@WhettFarts @julianblacks_ All you have to do is learn ai skills. If you refuse it’s the equivalent to someone refusing to use word processors during the pc revolution.

@julianblacks_ I was at Cisco until last week. Same thing. They wanted us to figure out how to ad AI into our workstreams. I refused. Maybe that is whybI was let go

My wife just got laid off by Meta. We knew the writing was on the wall. But I want to give a little background. Meta a couple months back had a company-wide AI week. During this week Meta halted all day-to-day work and required all employees to familiarize themselves with AI. At the end of the week, each employee was required to have the early stages of an AI tool to be used internally by Meta.

Curious your thoughts on this one. FSD did not react at all to vehicles squealing their tires and swerving out of the way. This is a pinch point in the highway where two lanes merge. I mashed the brakes to avoid being involved in the mess, which allowed another driver to use my spot to avoid a potential rear ending. I saw folks slamming the brakes far earlier than I pressed the brakes and waited for FSD to react. It did not.

🇺🇸 Florida is putting wireless EV chargers inside the highway itself. Drive over it, get charged, no more anxiety issues. If this scales nationally, the last real argument against EVs just disappears.

@shazcodes I don’t take pay in startup equity for this reason unless I’m a cofounder. Startup equity as a standard employee is fugazi.

I haven't been able to drive the new software FSD v14.3.3 yet as I'm going to work for a few days. After reading the release notes I want to say something about the gamification of FSD intervention free streaks. In my opinion, this incentivizes not disengaging when it might be necessary. Keeping an intervention free streak going is not important. Driving safely is the most important. We are still supervising these vehicles. I implore everyone to not let this display, or keeping a streak alive push you into making a bad decision. Take care of yourself and those around you. Supervise safely.

Tesla establishing its Robotaxi network and then buying Uber would be like inventing email and then acquiring the telegraph company so you can use their existing customer base. The entire point is that the new system doesn't need the old intermediaries or their human operators $TSLA
@jason@Jason

Uber is going to be bought by Google/Waymo, Amazon or Tesla/SpaceX in the next year. For a “buy it now” price of $250b, one of those three companies gets a $12b a year free cash flow machine with $70b in revenue — and hundreds of millions of global customers This is the most obvious M&A deal since Instagram, Android and YouTube transformed Meta and Google Discuss

@Jason Why in earth would they do this? Ubers business advantage is it operates as a low capex marketplace for serendipitous transport. Take human drivers out and you don’t need a marketplace anymore, AND no capex means NO moat in AI age. 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

after 3 years unemployed, my friend finally got a job offer today. all he did was politely ask if there was room for a slightly higher salary to match market pay. they RESCINDED the entire offer. job market is actually insane right now.

Student turns in a paper. Send it to AI, generate a 5 question quiz on the content. Student takes the quiz next day on their own paper. If they wrote it, easy. If they didn't, obvious. No detection software. No accusations. Just quiet accountability.

Musk's lawyer brought a big monitor (maybe 36 inches) into the courtroom. OpenAI's lawyers asked to use it. Musk's lawyers said no. The judge told Musk's lawyers they have to let OpenAi use it. Then OpenAI said it might not be possible to connect their laptops to it.
