That one in the GIF looks like proper penumbra the, in-game screenshot looks nothing like it, it looks more like shadow cascades with far too much filtering, the transition is way to abrupt it makes no sense unless the character was the size of a tree or the lighting was overcast, which it doesn't seem to be either.

@enigmoron @DAKKADAKKA1 Unless the light source is diffuse, which it isn't unless it's cloudy the picture compared in the OP on the right is wrong. I'm well aware of how shadows work, you think you're clever but you're not that clever.

I know you're autistic and all but surely you know that it depends on many variables In Arc Raiders you get sharper shadows when the sunlight hits characters from a stronger point The point u retards fail to understand is that u expect shadows to always be sharp, and when u see soft shadows u think it's unrealistic

@BillyCherokee @DAKKADAKKA1 It's not penumbra, the object is close to the ground to be blurred to that degree, also it's uniformly blurry, if it was penumbra it would be less the closer it got to the body.

@MDUmairKh @DAKKADAKKA1 This isn't a leaf shadow this is a human in a sunny day close to the ground, it should be way sharper than that.

@DAKKADAKKA1 Completely sharp shadows are unrealistic. Have you ever seen super sharp leaf shadows during the day? There's always a fall off (blur) around the edges. And this is evening.

@enigmoron @DAKKADAKKA1 No that's not accurate at all it's simply low res with a lot of filtering. If you try going outside sometime you may notice that your shadow looks a lot more like the one on the left.

@Odg1190 @Arvydas_B In which way do you think it's unique/different? I played it back when it released and I genuinely cannot remember. The only thing I can remember is how underwhelming it was compared to everything else I was playing at the time.

@CounterPunchDev @Arvydas_B Because stylistically it's really unique and different. I do not know how someone who's a game dev can't see it oozing creativity despite the gameplay being subpar at best
