There are vast oceans of developmental differences in the younger years. Mere months mean a completely different child. People’s perception of age in the baby/toddler years is so off though, is it an 18 month old or a 3 year old? Is that a baby or a kid?

That’s a rite, but the rest of the church? We aren’t a rite, are we? We just are what we are & always have been. I prefer our formal name- The Orthodox Catholic Church

We cannot LARP as Eastern, we must reclaim the faith fully as Western Orthodoxy, Celtic Orthodoxy, American Orthodoxy, Southern Orthodoxy etc. Going to a Russian or Greek church must be seen as the first step in a series of steps.

No. This is one of those rare cases where they should all be immediately removed into the best foster home known to local CPS workers until the case can be thoroughly investigated and the children’s safety w/ related adults confirmed.

@maksimologija I know several parishes where the only space they have large enough for catechism is in the nave. That would be my guess. If they were intended to be used during the Liturgy they would likely have chosen an Orthodox Bible organized by the church calendar.

@maksimologija To be charitable, perhaps they host their catechism or other Bible studies in the same space and they are not intended for worship. Perhaps it gives visitors something assuring to read (okay, they do read the Bible ;) when the service is over their head.

Why would anyone need an "Orthodox Study Bible" during the Divine Liturgy? Do they want to read the marginal notes during the Epiclesis? Honestly, I really don't understand why people who so clearly want to be Protestants insist on infiltrating the Orthodox Church.

@CountingTh84404 @Deth2Compromise @AppyOrtho Technically, it isn't a "new" rite. It is a rite that fell out of use over time after the Schism. And the Bishops of some jurisdictions approved reinstitution.

It seems to be influenced by several sources. More recreation than continuation. I’ve got questions, haha, but this probably isn’t the thread.

I’ve seen cradle orthodox befuddled when asked if they were Easter Rite, by western parishioners lol. They’d never heard of rites in the church.
