Really, what a flawed approach to crime incidents. When authorities fail to respond decisively to criminal behavior, it creates a permissive environment where lawbreakers face little deterrent. Broken windows theory, famously applied in New York City in the 1990s, suggests that tolerating minor disorder signals that no one is in control, emboldening more serious offenders. Lenient sentencing, reduced policing, or inconsistent enforcement can embolden repeat offenders and signal to would-be criminals that consequences are unlikely. From this perspective, a firm and consistent response to crime — rather than leniency — is what keeps communities safe.

Saudi Arabia: The U.S. government is ready to help Americans leave the Middle East if you choose to take advantage of the options available. Please complete this form so the Department of State can better assist you and provide you with timely updates: ow.ly/sQ8C50YpEK3.   If you have already completed the crisis intake form, please do not fill it out again. Commercial flights are currently operating out of Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dhahran and Saudi airspace remains open. Using headphones is no longer just considered proper etiquette, it's now a requirement on United Airlines flights. United says passengers who use speakers and refuse to wear headphones could be removed from flights and even face a lifetime ban.The airline says travelers who don't have headphones can request a free pair from flight attendants.

Yes, the State Department is actively securing military aircraft and charter flights for American citizens who wish to leave the Middle East. We've been in direct contact with nearly 3,000 Americans abroad. American citizens should call 1-202-501-4444 for assistance with departure options.

Good copy. Can we also address whether any mil-air or chartered flights out of the region are anticipated? Fellow citizens have questions and concerns.
