Here's how profitable Toyota is right now: In February, Toyota and Lexus dealerships captured 29% of the car industry's *total* new-vehicle gross margin. Basically, if the industry made a total of $1 on all new cars sold in February—Toyota earned 29 cents of that. Here's the wild part: It hit these numbers while accounting for only *9%* of all franchised dealerships. On this day in 1935, Newfoundland changed its time to 3.5 hours west of Greenwich. In 1963, the province attempted to join Atlantic Time but the public heavily opposed this. In 1988, the province experimented with double daylight saving time. This was extremely unpopular.

@StJohnsTelegram Current base pay for N.L. MHAs is $95,357. Report recommends $120,000. The report says following is pay for other Atl. prov's: -New Brunswick: $93,126 (beginning Nov. 1, 2024) -Nova Scotia: $89,235 (since Jan. 1, 2013) -Prince Edward Island: $82,116 (beginning April 1, 2024)

MHAs in N.L. might soon get a nearly $25k pay raise, making our province's legislators the highest-paid in Atlantic Canada. Recommended in a report released today. Management Commission will consider it at public meetings. Story coming shortly @StJohnsTelegram. #nlpoli
