Over 50 years ago, Rabbi Yitz Greenberg posited the following principle: "No statement, theological or otherwise, should be made that would not be credible in the presence of burning children." In children - our universal symbol of innocence, of possibility, of humanity - there can be no tolerance nor justification of their suffering. On this day, when the bodies of children are met by some with celebration or silence, we witness the desecration of humanity. In all that divides us, in all that tears at the threads of connection in our world, if we abandon our ability to grieve children, we have lost our soul. If we contextualize or feel the need to moralize such obliteration of innocence, I fear any credibility for our future. There are myriad reasons to weep today. For life, for death, for the symbolism of humanity lost.
It’s on us to stand up, especially as our souls are seared with tragedy.

Guys. Please.
I’d like to ask you to stop what you’re doing for a second and watch this 4 minute video from @Erin_Molan and @SkyNewsAust
I am not afraid to admit I shed many a tear at this message.
I have a small feature at the start, but just to have an inclusion with someone who has a message like this is an absolute honour.
Erin. I send the most powerful thanks from the bottom of my heart.
You are every bit as courageous and admirable as your father.
Your daughter will grow up knowing she had a parent who fought for what is right.
Now. I have many followers on here that I hold just as admirable. Your support on here for Israel and the Jewish community during our darkest days, will never be forgotten. I will always have your back.
People like you are the ones that really matter, your voices matter.
Erin, I send the biggest wishes of safety for you and your daughter. Thank you for standing up and laying it on the line.
Truly, I am stunned at the bravery. It shouldn’t have to be brave, but this is the world we live in.
People’s minds have been poisoned by the most evil forces out there.
It’s the ones that stand up and call it out that will forever be remembered.
Thank you @SkyNewsAust and @Erin_Molan for reminding us there are people who would have stood up to the Nazis in the 1930s
Truly. Thank you.

The purpose of the DNC convention is to promote the Walz/Harris campaign, coalesce our energy, and hopefully reach uncommitted voters.
The Free Palestine people tried to hijack that moment and disrupt this event, many openly stating they wanted a repeat of the 1968 violent riots.
No one showed up. They failed.
So they are moving to Plan B. Bitching that a speaker didn’t mirror their talking points on stage and pretending their “uncommitted” delegates have power - which they don’t.
I’ve been saying this since October 7, but the horrific Palestine situation deserves more serious political movement than this bunch of Jew-hating narcissists. They want attention, and they want to set everything in sight on fire. The number of open antisemites in their movement is stunning.
You can’t quell these people by giving them more attention - it just fuels them and makes the situation worse.
Not giving them a platform to hijack our convention is so obviously the correct play. Welcome to politics. We do what we have to do to win.

People sometimes ask me, “What happened to you, Brianna?” October 7th happened.
I used to believe the entire progressive storyline about Israel. But when I started seeing people on my own side claiming that women tied up in the backs of jeeps, pants covered in blood were not being raped, that just seemed insane. So I realized I had a responsibility to research the history and form better opinions.
And it turns out there are entirely valid reasons Israel aggressively defends itself. And you keep going further and further back in history, and every part of the progressive storyline about our Middle East policy is built on misleading history and bad logic. Theocratic Islam really is disrupting western democracy throughout the world, even if it feels uncomfortable to admit it.
Then you see people on your own side claiming things day after day that are objectively untrue, such as the fact that a war with the lowest ratio of civilian deaths in modern urban warfare is a “genocide,” you understand you’re on a side that morally front-loads information to force people to arrive at faulty conclusions.
So you ask yourself what else are they lying about?
And it’s a lot. There’s a lot of stuff I’ve felt was insane for a long time and I just have kept my head down because it’s easier. I’m not willing to become the left-wing version of the Republican fringe.
I am a progressive in the sense I think our public policy needs a massive reworking to focus on the working class. Dignity for trans people that medically transition is one of my top policies. We need criminal justice reform. We need to fix our broken healthcare system. We need to invest massively in public housing.
But I also now understand I’m standing next to some people that are just congenitally dishonest. And frankly they’re antisemitic.
It’s not easy pushing for a new direction from the Democratic Party and progressivism but that’s what I feel compelled to do.

John Oliver has just said out loud that Israel is committing genocide, on HBO and his YouTube channel with 10 million subscribers. HE JUST DID.

It’s *because* of my Jewish upbringing and values that I cannot attend Prime Minister Netanyahu’s address today.
