However you feel about Fabian Lysell, the #NHLBruins mismanaged him as a player and as an asset. There is no reason that over the past two years he was entirely buried in Providence when Boston was clearly getting experimental with players like Steeves, Reichel, etc.

Reminder. Duncan Keith got a ONE game suspension for slashing Jeff Carter in the FACE.
@NHLPlayerSafety clearly had an axe to grind against McAvoy and the precedent set by the Keith offesne alone would constitute grounds for an appeal.

@PeterTenkrat I think they have huge management issue starting with player development system until the Acknowledge that there is no way forward . Their best young player was developed by another team . What do you think ? Is there a path with the current organization. I don’t see it

@Craigcdonz1 There’s never gonna be a 1c in FA. You gotta trade for average 1c’s or suck and draft. Extending long term rather than trading your mid6 centers is the best way to continue kicking the can down the road.

@RyanJBosworth Ahh, don’t rush development? They don’t develop .AHL is where their players stay until they age out of their contracts .Nobody wants to play for them because they jam their roster with 2mil a year 3rd and 4th liners . How do you develop when there is no room or the promise of .

I get the optimism, but there's a lot here that won't work/happen.
- Letourneau is going back to BC.
- Hagens will be on the wing.
- Zacha will be down the middle.
- You aren't getting Robertson.
- Jeannot and Lindholm aren't going anywhere.
Don't rush the development of your best prospects.

@chrispronger Incredibly lucky. We had 2 high schoolers in the 90s that they couldn’t revive after getting hit like that . Rattled every player . Everyone went to thicker padding after that .

@RealMattDolloff All the young guys looking up to the big club and realize they have no shot because the bruins love to sign journeyman to contracts to play on the 3rd and fourth lines. No where for them to go but leave for a team that will give them a chance

Short answer yes (good insight in here from Dom). All due respect to the veterans down in Providence, the AHL Bruins care a little too much about the wrong things at that level. The focus should be on getting prospects ready for the NHL, not winning the Calder Cup.

I wouldn't write off Matt Poitras for the 2026-27 #NHLBruins . Not only is he the playmaking center they sorely need, but he's improved his overall game immensely... backchecking, absorbing contact, etc. Shame he doesn't get a longer playoff season with the @AHLBruins.

@_TyAnderson If you were a new player and you see the big team giving 2 year deals for journeyman to play 3rd and 4th line minutes instead of developing rookies to fill those spots would you be excited ?when you do go up, it’s a reward for playing hard in the AHL with no intention of staying

On top of this, the amount of times I’ve heard about young players being outright demoralized and feeling stuck, really have to wonder if it’s time for a change.

The AHL says the goal was offside. The League takes responsibility for the missed call and has addressed this with the officials as well as Providence coach and management. With blue line cameras in the planning, the AHL will adopt a review process next season.

Working on an explanation from the AHL this morning. Springfield beat Providence in OT last night on what appears to be an offside play. There is no review system in place for off side challenges by coaches or at the League level. Stay tuned.

Bruins select Joe Thornton at no. 1 overall in the 1997 NHL Draft. He would go on to underachieve in Boston before winning a Hart Trophy with the Sharks. Still annoys me.
