Yesterday was a BIG day for Zimbabwe as the RBZ finally released the new, more durable, and higher denominations of our STRONG ZiG currency.
The general populace expressed their satisfaction, appreciation, and gratitude for the introduction of these higher denominations, noting that it will reduce cash bulk, enable faster business transactions, lower handling costs, and bolster monetary stability.
I also had several discussions with some leading car dealers and real estate agents who publicly declared they are ready to sell cars and properties respectively using favourable ZiG prices. This is worth celebrating.
In ZiG, we have one of the best currencies in Africa that has the capacity to withstand inflationary pressures, guarantee macroeconomic stability, and compete on a regional scale.

Today I managed to visit the Mujuru family at their home in Harare to personally convey my heartfelt condolences following the tragic passing of Ronald Mujuru's wife and five children, in a fatal road accident along Harare-Masvingo Highway.
As a mother and grandmother, I am still deeply pained by this unimaginable loss and I continue to stand with Mr Mujuru and the entire family, relatives and friends in this moment of profound grief.
May the Almighty God continue to grant them strength, comfort and peace, and may our nation unite in prayer and compassion. May the departed dear souls rest in eternal peace.

Zimbabweans, let’s be honest with ourselves.
Saying President ED Mnangagwa has done nothing in 8 years is false.
Saying he’s only performed “average” is also false.
Remember from 2008 to 2013, we had a Government of National Unity (GNU) but what changed?
No major roads built.
No economic turnaround.
No freedom to speak especially on social media.
Today, for the first time, Zimbabweans can speak freely
Millions support Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 not out of greed, but because they’ve seen real change with their own eyes.
Vision 2030 began in 2017 then hit by COVID-19.
But the President didn’t stop.
He didn’t cry
He didn’t borrow endlessly
He kept going using our own resources.
Let’s stop emotional talk
Let’s speak truth
Let’s give credit where it’s due

@AfricanHub_ Why !!! Why!!! Why man!!! We want this traditional culture to continue
English

In the Banyankole (Ankole) custom in Uganda 🇺🇬, tradition holds that before marriage:
- The bride’s paternal aunt (known as the *ishenkazi* or marriage aunt) is required to test the groom’s sexual potency by having sexual intercourse with him. This act serves as a “potency test” to confirm that the groom is capable of performing sexually and fathering children.
- The same aunt is also traditionally responsible for verifying the bride’s virginity, often through a physical examination or by observing the couple’s first sexual encounter after the wedding night.
These practices are part of older pre-colonial marriage customs among the Banyankole people. While they were historically observed in some families and communities, many modern Banyankole (especially in urban areas, among educated families, Christians, and younger generations) no longer follow or accept these specific sexual elements of the tradition due to changing social norms, religion, education, and legal/ethical concerns.
Today the role of the ishenkazi is more commonly limited to advising the bride, preparing her for marriage, conducting non-sexual rituals, and helping negotiate bridewealth (cows and other items). The explicit “potency test” and virginity inspection by the aunt are widely considered outdated or abandoned by most contemporary Banyankole couples.
