I love Genoa. Its a short trip from Milan. When you situate yourself in Genoa you can go anywhere - the Italian Riviera and elsewhere. Years ago when I worked in Milan, I used to go to Genoa for the weekend, check into a hotel and go to nice places like Santa Margarita Ligure and Portofino.

Genoa is the Italian city too many travelers skip. It's maze of old alleys, faded palaces, salty harbor air, and hidden food culture make it one of the most underrated places in Europe.

OMG I would say I have had 50% of the above street food in those countries. I've had the pleasure of dining in the most grand Michelin restaurants in the world as well.
