This is obvious to many of us in the USA. Sadly, few speak up. Even though our FDA head Marks announced he is throwing away the efficacy standard for kids vax. People only complain of bad drug approvals for Alzheimer's 👇 that's a losing strategy.

@gregggonsalves @DLeonhardt I'm a Danish ID doctor. For reference, we have not had a single pediatric death from Omicron in Denmark. In 500K infected kids. Only on Twitter is the <5 vaccine an urgency. Certainly not in real life, for real doctors. You should vaccinate your elderly. That's urgent.

I keep seeing people telling journalists that kids can take off masks when case/hospitalizations/deaths fall below some number
That is like tying masking to the phases of the moon
Not a shred of empirical data that shows that masks have benefit above but not below any threshold

Next time the world faces a scientific/medical crisis where there are huge knowledge gaps, perhaps our first impulse should *not* be to reflexively silence and censor those with differing/diverse opinions. Just a thought.

You can't model when it's safe to take masks off in schools. Because no one knows the effect size of the intervention. The model's input is make-believe. What's the point? Just make up numbers then. Throw a dart at a wall. Roll a dice. This is not science.

We can't keep jabbing extra doses based on antibody titers. Even symptomatic infection is too low a bar. We need trials powered for reduction in severe disease.
They should target the elderly. Not Young people

Why might masking kids be different than masking adults:
Do all adults at a workplace take their mask off for 2 hours and sleep side by side in the same room?
Because that's what happens in daycare, where the CDC policies have resulted in masking two-year-olds.
