Crunch Element VR

@META_Elements Thanks, that was done for normal fog but to get volumetric fog that incorporates density, light scattering, and (later) noise and fog meshes for things like smoke grenades or other effects, a volume was needed

@CrunchElementVR That's pretty cool. For high-resolution and mobile, good way to go about this is simply add the fog to the material shaders so you can render in on a single pass.

It makes the enemies even more sinister

VR high performance volumetric fog is looking great! Rock solid at 90+ fps. The shader reuses SH coefficients from the baked lighting volumes, so there’s negligible memory increase and supports any number of baked lights in the volume. Lots of potential with this effect!

Making equipment modular was a real unlock. Hardpoints on the Sentinel turret are swappable so you can pick the best tool for the job!

Thank you for all the support on the overhaul devlog! Crunch Element started as something I just wanted to play with friends in college but it didn’t exist. Seeing it grow with a real community behind it is surreal. VR isn’t an easy space to survive in without big funding, but I’m committed to pushing this forward and documenting the ride as I go!

There is a chance, it will just depend on a number of things. Thankfully, this past update makes that possible. I've got it working on standalone with cross platform on an internal test, but it would need some significant optimization. I'd also want to make sure the base game is not affected negatively. Also, ensuring the core game is polished and fun would be a priority before doing a port.

I need a VR game to drop that reminds me why I love VR, last year was incredible & this year feels like a steep drop off in terms of consistent high quality releases & exciting projects Glad I’ve got mods to keep me entertained because I’m unsure what I’d be playing otherwise
