I used to work at a pallet company. My job was to make pallets. Super interesting, I know! The pay was pretty okay, but boy was I miserable. I've dreamed of working with game development all my life, and a couple of years ago I decided to take a chance and quit my job to make games full time in my own company. I still haven't had a big break, but I keep working on it, and I love it so much. We manage to get by of course, and my girlfriend has a job so that helps a lot. There is no place I'd rather be (but I would love to have a bit more money 💀)

@Cryptopirate616 Yep. :P It's not as good as Doom mapping but for me it's a lot better than using Blender. I prefer making the maps in-engine.

Hardware prices go up, game prices go up.. so I'm making my game's requirements go down. ;) I've spent a couple weeks superoptimiznig the maps... made myself a little tool do help me decouple visuals from collision, so I can merge visuals and have a lot less objects in each map.
