This is not an enforcement problem, it’s an integrity problem. Both @GBA_office and @BlrCityPolice have proven to be hopelessly incompetent and deeply compromised. Take a walk on Church Street any day of the week. Footpaths are completely occupied by hawkers, Hoysala vehicles are parked right next to them “guarding” the encroachment and BBMP marshals openly collect money. This is not even subtle anymore. These very same areas were “cleared” less than 3 months ago. Today, the hawkers are back in larger numbers than before. So let’s ask the obvious question: Who is accountable for this organised lawlessness? Who allowed them back? Who is collecting the money? Who is protecting them? Until real accountability, suspensions and criminal action happen, tweets about deterrence are just optics. This is deliberate dereliction of duty and organised accountability theatre, where officials close grievances to protect themselves, not to serve citizens. Why are such incompetent officials assigned public responsibilities when their only contribution is closing complaints on paper? Is this how @GBA_office and the @ICCCBengaluru measure performance? Photos attached, taken today, clearly show the illegal flex banners are still up. Dashboards may say “resolved”. The streets say otherwise. Citizens deserve resolution, not fiction.
