Interesting idea on the PDOcast today about matching, and then potentially moving hi. next offseason (after July 2nd) if things aren’t going well between him and the Ducks. The contract is more palatable at that point to other teams and could maybe swing a deal. Who knows, but another pro / option of matching

My new tool is pushing me towards matching the Leo Carlsson offer sheet. Occasionally you get a class like this one where it's a close call. Occasionally you get a star studded class with a Makar and a Draisaitl and you gotta take the picks. Most of the time, Carlsson AINEC.

"Hockey" related aside, if I'm the owner of the Anaheim Ducks, I am having a serious discussion with Pat Verbeek as to how this happened. They will most likely match, but the owner is still shelling out an obscene amount of money that probably could've been avoided.
