British television spent years normalising this coarseness: Celebrity Juice Little Britain Mrs Brown’s Boys And a whole parade of other smug, thick, gutter-level “comedy” The hollowing out of public decency didn’t start with ordinary people. It started in our living rooms, funded by licence fees and advertising, long ago. The same media outlets now clutching their pearls helped create the culture they’re pretending to be shocked by. Time to call it out. Time to restore some basic British standards.
