Support to families displaced from south Lebanon, now living in areas inside and outside UNIFIL’s area of operations, continues as they still face urgent daily needs. Today, in Saida, UNIFIL helped deliver food to families who are currently living outside collective shelters.

#UNDOF was established in 1974 by @UN Security Council resolution 350 following the conclusion of the Agreement on Disengagement between Israeli & Syrian forces. Ahead of Peacekeepers' Day, we thank the 1,100 military & civilian personnel deployed on the Golan for peace. #PKDay

In March, four @UNIFIL_ Indonesian peacekeepers lost their lives while serving under the @UN flag. On 18 May, ASG @khiari_khaled visited the @PMPP_TNI & participated in a ceremony to honor them. #PKDay, marked on May 29, pays tribute to the service & sacrifice of peacekeepers.

#IndiaAtUN Proud to announce that Major Abhilasha Barak has been awarded the 2025 @UN Military Gender Advocate of the Year Award. She is serving with the Indian Battalion as the Commander of the Female Engagement Team (FET) in #UNIFIL. Major Abhilasha is also first woman combat helicopter pilot of the Indian Army. She is being recognized for her outreach and community engagement activities for women and adolescent girls and gender sensitization training for peacekeepers. She is the third recipient of the award from 🇮🇳, after Major Suman Gawani (2019) and Major Radhika Sen (2024).

Saddened to learn of the passing of former @MONUSCO Force Commander Lieutenant General Otávio Rodrigues de Miranda Filho. I remember his remarkable service in the DRC for peace & stability. My deepest condolences to the Government of Brazil & to his family, friends & colleagues.

In coordination with @OMSRDC and its partners, #MONUSCO continues its emergency logistical support in the fight against #Ebola. On May 20, new cargo flights delivered 7,957 kg of freight from #Kinshasa and 6,030 kg from #Nairobi to #Bunia.

Civilians continue to bear the burden of ongoing violence and instability in southern Lebanon. Many families remain displaced, while damage to homes, roads, and other infrastructure affects daily life and recovery efforts.
