Devastated mum Wendy Duffy ends her life today at Swiss suicide clinic because she cannot live without her only son.
Wendy Duffy, 56, a former care worker from the West Midlands, is travelling to the Pegasos clinic in Basel today to end her life.
Her only son Marcus, 23, died four years ago after choking on a cherry tomato while asleep on the sofa.
Wendy says the grief has become completely unbearable and no amount of therapy or medication has helped.
She has paid £10,000 of her life savings for the procedure and said “I want to die, and that’s what I’m going to do. My life; my choice.”
Her family support her heartbreaking decision even though they are devastated to lose her. She has asked for her ashes to be scattered at the park bench where she used to sit every night talking to Marcus.

@jamesgtmoore @TheGriftReport @GriftReport Until you walk in her shoes, don't judge.. It's her business, her life, her choice.. Just have empathy to what she's gone through
English

@TheGriftReport @GriftReport What she is doing is a form of cowardice, mental weakness, disrespect for Creation and a dereliction of duty to live as long as possible in order to evolve in consciousness as much as possible in this life.

I remember watching the first man on the moon landing some 50years ago which was very exciting as this new mission is. Can anyone tell me why it is that they are not actually going to land on the moon but circle round it. It’s not a criticism I’m just interested to know why they are not actually going to land on the moon.

@mrmikeMTL Yep, I recall going on holiday with my parents in the 80s, smokers were at the back of the plane, so we're we as young children 😬

Powerful performance by all involved and what a brilliant last scene with the despicable #HuwEdwards explaining the categories, I hope he watched #TheDownfallOfHuwEdwards
English

@CurlsACB That's chilling to think this 🥺

You just know this wasn't his first rodeo, just the first time he got caught #TheDownfallOfHuwEdwards

Just caught up with a friend in his early 60s. Both he and his wife now have cancer — they were completely healthy before the COVID vaccine. Another friend told me her son (in his 30s) has cancer. The healthy guy I used to play pickleball with (also 60s) just died. And yet another woman’s husband got turbo cancer. This is NOT normal. Something’s very wrong.

@Mr_Husky1 Why move.. You do have the right to say no, they're not your kids, let the parents pay to be seated together
English

It finally happened. After more than 3 decades of flying, I was asked to give up my 2A for 22A by a family of four (husband, wife + two kids under 10, one of them being treated as a lap baby).
The wife asked if I’d switch. I felt bad refusing, so tried to be a little reasonable, told her if she covered what I paid for my seat, I’d move (front seats cost way more than the ones in the back)
She countered saying they’d also paid for their seats… (their total for 3 seats was just ~15% more than what I paid for one).
She eventually moved with one kid, clearly not happy about it. Now I’m sitting on the tarmac wondering why they didn’t just ask 22B & 22C to move up instead.
Te husband and son are next to me, and the kid is using all our tray tables like his personal drum set. It's a 2.5 hrs flight, but god help me!!!

@CurlsACB I'm punching the air if I recognise ONE of the nominees.
Where did it all go wrong?

I've had many low points in my life, but I currently find myself sat, as a 50 year old man with a blanket round his shoulders, watching the Brit Awards with my 80 year old Mother on a Saturday night #Brits2026
