@DemShenanigans Yeah, i kind of did that. Tried Marathon during the free week thing, wasn't really impressed and i don't enjoy extraction loop nor pvp so i just don't care about Marathon. As for Destiny, i did play it, a lot, stopped around Lightfall, but i will log in on June 9-th for a spin.

Alright, reminding the class of Twitter once again that game studios are companies. When things like what happened with Destiny occur, and the studio (Bungie) needs to make profit but doesn't meet the expectations, the studio is closed for good and the parent company that has IP rights sits on it forever, only to revive it downstream if they feel like it with a team that has none of the original devs and will never be the magic you crave. Actively rooting for the other IP to fail, even if you don't enjoy it, helps guarantee you will never see what you want and if you do it will not be the same. Instead, speak about your love of Destiny, try Marathon if you want (or leave it be if you don't), play D2 while servers are up to show player engagement, share your stories of why D2 matters like folks have been, and stop actively rooting for the very thing you're worried about happening (Destiny being gone for good) by review bombing and raging. Nothing good will come from attacking Marathon or the devs working on it. Plus, a lot of these devs did work on Destiny. You're actively rooting for the devs you claim to love to fail with some of the crap y'all are doing. Source: I've gamed, worked in games fields, know plenty of devs, and more for literally 20+ years bc I'm ancient

@Aidanlancaster1 @DestinyBulletn I have no interest in buying Marathon. I tried it and i didn't like it. If people who really like Marathon want more players i suggest they start buying more copies for their friend and trying to get them on board that way.

@DestinyBulletn Everyone is missing the point. If we don’t support marathon. Bungie will not have the funding to make D3. Think of it as an investment. We need to play the long game with this and that means supporting Bungie however we can to increase the chance of making D3.

@clarityysix Average dedicated Destiny 2 player invested between $500 to $700 since D2 release. That's only for the game and dlc's, not including Eververse store.

Even if every single one of those sigs paid £70 for the game, that’s only just around £12m, unfortunately that absolutely is NOT enough to convince sony to make D3 Assuming D3 would have the same budget of around $200m as marathon, it would need around 3 million signatures.
Dexerto@Dexerto

A petition calling for Sony to greenlight Destiny 3 has hit over 170,000 signatures online “We believe in the potential of Destiny 3 to inspire new generations of gamers and to keep the fire of the Guardian spirit alive”

@Loopie333 @MacticsG1 By that logic, how will Marathon sustain Bungie? It has never even touched it's release daily player number during season 1. It has lost almost 80% off players and if they are lucky, season 2 launch will maybe hit half of that.

D2 never surpassed D1's daily player numbers. D2 lost to D1 on a number of metrics, despite being on console and pc vs just console. Who is gonna give Bungie 600 million-1 billion for D3. Marathon was a escape for Bungie. Destiny was never gonna make it to a D3, the funding wasn't there. The petition is gonna have to hit 2 million that's D1 peak daily users D2 only hit 1 mil. Could be higher but consoles and Bungie hide their numbers

@rosoddle I suck at pvp and i did it legit, except for the Fable rank. That part i had help. Cerridius and Gunzzandbunzz carried me. I actually suck that much that putting on 3 gl's and running around increased my k/d.

@redacted6827 @Sorcere32916122 @casualblu3 No, it's not less fun, the time to have fun is shorter. Single player games are awesome, i have 1.2k hours in BG3 and around 1k hours in DOS2. But i have 7k hours in Destiny. Because it kept going with new content. I am ok if it ends, i can always got back to ESO or FF14.

@BlameItOnRyen If by supporting means waiting for them to do something without criticizing Marathon or their previous and current fumbles, yeah, ok. But if it means buying a game you are not interested in or praising a game you have no interest in, then no.

Destiny fans might not wanna hear it, but if you really want to see Bungie get a greenlight for Destiny 3 you should maybe support Marathon as opposed to shitting on it and review bombing it.

@redacted6827 @Sorcere32916122 @casualblu3 Yeah, in single player games or pvp arena shooters, not in live service game like Destiny. I am ok with finite content as i do prefer single player games, but that's not the same for general Destiny players, without live service, there is no Destiny.

@Porkchop_EXP It's kind of a personal preference. Here in BC (Canada), i don't need AC at all. Summer is at most 27C(80F), who the hell needs AC for that temp. If temps were 40C(104F) for weeks, then yeah, AC would be nice. Personally, i wouldn't need it even then, i am ok with high temp.

The weirdest thing about the “europoor no AC” discourse is that there is AC everywhere in Southern and Eastern Europe so this is obviously not a financial issue. It is an ideological issue in Northwestern Europe, which is admittedly even funnier.

@Geezaws2 Ok, give me a sale pitch for Marathon. Just head up, i find extraction shooters a waste off time and i have no interest in pvp. As a reference, i have bought all Destiny 1 and 2 dlc's and expansions. Out of 7k hours in Destiny, around 50 hours of that were in pvp.

Marathon selling means Bungie makes money, Bungie making money means sony makes money. sony making money means a greenlight for another bungie product. another bungie product would almost assuredly be D3. Please stop shaking your fists at the clouds and use logic.

@Geezaws2 Unless they turn it into a really casual friendly game, it's not going to get much more players then it already has. Let alone sell more copies.

@MayorReynoldsTV I don't hate Marathon, i actually don't care to care about Marathon. I have more interest in doing another run of Eye of the Beholder from 1992 then playing an extraction shooter. As for Bungie, they made their bed, now they have to lay in it. Unfortunate for innocent devs.

Reality check for Destiny fans; Hating on Marathon will not help. First of all, it’s a good game. Second, actively rooting against Bungie’s success and revenues will result in less future investment in the IP that you claim to love. A rising tide carries all ships. Wake up.

@KRISTIANBAXTE10 @pennyworth63000 @TheMcBang I am in BC (Victoria). For me, ER around 8 years ago, kidney stone. Drove myself there and signed in. Got my pain killers within 10 minutes and got in within 20 minutes. They kept me overnight for testing. For my kid, 2 years ago, she hit her head, bleeding. Waited around 10 min.
