My 93-year-old mother died in her sleep early this morning. On April 1….of all days. 😢 Yesterday we talked about the books we were reading and how her younger brother had been diagnosed with leukemia. She was looking forward to seeing my sister who is coming on Friday. RIP

@deaflibertarian We have to learn to go to the Moon for no reason so we can go to Mars, also for no reason. In the meantime, a lot of money is getting spent which could be used for unmanned missions, which product a lot more science.

@Andie00471 I think that for most, this epiphany will be too painful to bear. Instead, they will look for a new guru who will encourage their cruelty, racism, and paranoia.

Because I feel some will wake up with a shock once he is gone. Like leaving a cult for the real world. Going back to Kansas after Oz. Waking from a dream. Looking back at the precious hard earned dollars they gave freely to a...BILLIONAIRE...and think jesus fucking christ what was I thinking??? He played me!

After Trump dies, his memory has faded and life moves on, do you think MAGA rubes will look back and wonder why they donated the money, wore the hats and ear maxipads, bought the fake gold watches, drove around the country to rallies, wrapped their trucks with his image, and generally drank the Koolaid? Once the magic is gone, will they wake from the stupor and realize how stupid they looked? How much precious time and money they wasted? How the grift only worked because of their gullibility? Will they ever see how stupid it all was?

We are going to see an accelerating tide of these admissions and conversions as the coming weeks and months pass. And the job of those of us who have opposed Trump for years is to resist saying "I told you so," or "you knew better," or "who needs you," but rather to say "thank you for seeing the light," and to ask people who previously supported Trump to help us stand up now for the impeachment and removal of that terrible man so that we rid ourselves of him sooner, rather than later. The survival of our nation as a constitutional republic depends in no small part on such grace.
