@thedowd Beyond sandbox was not ready. The community begged, sent death threats and so much more, we saw this with cyber punk.

Well well well Factions is on a custom game engine and has about 1% the bugs of Beyond Sandbox. It also runs at stable 90 FPS with 150+ players rendered. Beyond is a well publicized wreck. Everyone is rightfully upset about Beyond. The marketing was misleading to say the least, performance is terrible even on Quest 3. Literally nothing about it is next generation. But do I even need to say that at this point? You really outdid yourself this time, Jon.

I don't see any reason as to why UG would make drastically different decisions compared to Gtag or Animal Company. Of all of them, AC should be doing the most because they originated as Spatial (a quasi metaverse platform), but AC is doing a mobile port too. I think they're all horsemen of the VR apocalypse.

Looks like Gorilla Tag Mobile is only a few months away from release. Other top VR games are working on similar platform expansions. - Not cross platform, a different sort of game entirely, but using the same IP - Will be announced at Gorilla Con soon - Very different art style - Two-finger movement to control one hand at a time to 'replicate' gorilla tag movement on mobile. This and other mobile expansions will do catastrophic damage to VR. There are still hundreds of thousands of new Quests sold every year solely for Gorilla Tag, Animal Company, and others that are preparing mobile ports. Gorilla Tag mobile is a different game, but mobile is such a behemoth platform compared to VR that it will dwarf VR quickly and deprioritize it financially. Probably 1.5 years until the boost that Gorilla Tag brought VR wears off completely and we're all back to pre-2020 VR. Unless something changes.

@thedowd They have the most resources out of all the vr studios and they don't do anything. They don't even participate in xr events like the giveaway thing everyone has been talking about and expos. Contiuum (ug) I feel like will probably do a lot around the vr space tho.

@Cyclone_2809 yeah its so depressing. merch, tv shows, plushies, mobile game, orion drift. anything but building the metaverse (which they could have done and would be worth billions by now)

Why isn't there a free roaming bicycling VR game? Not to imply I'm lazy or a chronic gamer or anything, but I'd be in INCREDIBLE shape if I got to run from the cops on an exercise bike for completely unrelated reasons.

@matteo311 I feel like it's only dead for the older users. And these kids will grow up playing VR and them their kids will do the same. Happened with console. Kids played it, then their kids did the same.
