If I frame a question to make genocide appear to be correct, then it becomes correct? There must be some underlying moral framework you're operating against. But I'm not seeing it so far.

I do not sell them. I analyze and size systems as a disinterested 3rd party. The UK is essentially committing suicide with it's bad policy decisions. No argument from me there. Those same type of bad policy decisions are precisely why solar + battery system print money for companies that invest in them here in CA.

@CypressXMX @AlexEpstein So you sell the things. I am concerned with the full system costs. Here in the UK the transition to renewables from a mostly coal, gas, and nuclear mix, has increased average electricity bills by 350% in the last 20 years. There is much more to come.

@CypressXMX @AlexEpstein You clearly don't understand costs. Storage costs are in addition to generation costs. Return on battery investment will depend on utilisation of those batteries. With despatchable generation there is no need for any storage.

@ManicBeancount @AlexEpstein Wholesale battery prices are now around $65/kwh. Retail options exist sub $200/kwh. You can realistically get to a $.10/kwh LCOE (levelized cost of energy) with solar + batteries. That's less than the average price of electricity in the US and globally.

I'm working on a case right now in San Diego. They are paying $1.16.kwh on summer peak. That's not even counting demand charges. Tell that to them. A solar system will pay for itself in like 1-2 years. Data centers will drive up rates in the rest of the country. You'll come around soon enough lol.

It's like "Awkward social misunderstanding", "Social etiquette overrun", "the lie snowball", "crazy converging storylines" and "Blunt honesty blowback". It was the same with Seinfeld, which David also wrote. But a slightly different playbook. You could go far with that formula.

Why does Opus 4.7 have 'adaptive thinking'? If I wanted a model that was retarded by default I would use a model from 2023. The labs are so severely compute constrained that they put out these crazy benchmark results and then give the permanent underclass their shittest models with deceptive marketing and retard level thinking turned on. If the model barely thinks by default, it's not the model they are marketing to you and blasting all over the media. It's becoming pretty clear that the true permanent underclass will be those who don't have access to the true frontier models, which will be too expensive to serve.
