Former DCS - now involved in all sorts of stuff - jumping back into the fray due to exasperation with this Govt and it’s quiet acceptance of child poverty 😡

I uploaded verified images of the “peace” document to Grok. I prompted, “Analyze this document from a logistic perspective. It is in English, but assess whether or not it has been translated. If so, what is the likely language of the original?” 🧵

Of course, many politicians, media barons, venture capitalists & professional propagandists know all of this, & deploy it for the goals they want to achieve - which invariably involve money & power - within the wider political strategy of 'Divide & Rule'. x.com/docrussjackson…

In 2010-11 Hampshire County Council spent £381 million on social care - equivalent to 53 per cent of its budget. In 2024, it estimates it'll spend £809 million - equivalent to 83 per cent of its budget. That's unsustainable. From the FT:

If Labour does not see its core mission as trying to improve the lives of some of our poorest children in good economic times or bad, what, then, is it really for? My column on why Reeves must do something significant on child poverty in the budget. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

The idea that improving benefits "doesn't deal with the root causes of poverty" is one of the most perniciously bad ideas in politics. You know what's cut pensioner poverty in half over the last 25 years? Giving them more money!
