You may not agree with me, but you will always know where you stand with me. Today in Billericay, a heckler tried to shout me down as I spoke about the normalisation of hatred towards Jews. I did not back down, because it needs to be said. British Jews are being targeted and too many people are pretending this is the same experience of other minorities. This lady implied Muslims are being similarly targeted. This is simply not true. Let's be honest about what is happening. Certain groups (in particular but not solely Islamic Extremists) are creating a climate of fear and intimidation that is normalising Jew hatred. I will never stand for that. Governments have spent too long hand-wringing, making excuses and hoping it would go away. It is time to call this what it is: a national emergency in our attitude, our urgency and our response. I will always engage with people who disagree with me. That is politics. But there is a difference between argument and intimidation. Shouting does not make a bad case good. It's done to silence others. And it certainly does not change the truth. The truth is that British Jews have been made to feel less safe in their own country. Our country. They are being singled out, threatened and harassed in ways that should shame everyone in public life. If we do not stand up now and stop this rise in antisemitism, then why bother saying "Never Again" at Holocaust Memorial Day? Because this is how it starts. I am not prepared to play along with the pretence that this is normal, or manageable, or just another example of tension between groups. It really is not. It is targeted hatred and it is getting worse. So my message is simple. Not here. Not in Britain. And not on our watch. We need to stop the hand-wringing and start doing the right thing. That means standing with British Jews openly, unapologetically and without fear.

@cllr_thomas When you say “activists dressed up as journalists” I assume you’re including almost everyone at GB News? What is it about the fact that the Senedd has no control over immigration policy that has you so rattled? Could it be it’s all you’ve got and you have no local policies?

Little Willy, the “impartial journalist”. Listen closely and you’ll hear it, a thinly veiled message telling you not to vote Reform, without ever saying it outright. This is what bias looks like. Don’t let activists dressed up as journalists steer your vote away from the real issues that matter to you and your family. On May 7, back the party that will actually put the people of Wales first. Vote Reform UK.
Will Hayward@WillHayCardiff

If you vote in the Welsh elections based on immigration, you are wasting your vote. The Welsh Parliament has NO CONTROL over immigration. It’s like ordering Deliveroo because your boiler has broken. One has no power to fix the other. I’m not saying you shouldn’t care about immigration as an issue, but electing people based on an issue they have no power to address makes no sense.

It’s bad enough Labour MPs are flogging sex toys in Parliament this week. But if Reeves isn’t funding our armed forces because 50% of them aren’t female, she is unfit for government. This is a new low. Labour have no idea how to protect us and know nothing about defence.
Jason Groves@JasonGroves1

No 10 is *not disputing* extraordinary claim in @spectator that Rachel Reeves is blocking defence funding because of the MoD’s poor record on ‘gender parity’ issues. Asked twice, the PM’s spokesman declines to comment on ‘speculation’…

@NadineDorries @reformparty_uk You were the one taking people for fools, pretending to be an MP while your constituents were left neglected. Just jumping on any bandwagon that made you feel relevant. Thank god you’re in Reform now, it’s the perfect home for incompetent egotists like you.

@derrickvanorden @VeryBrexitProbs Can’t tell if you’re misinformed, deluded or deliberately misleading, but none are a good look for an elected representative. Ronald Reagan would be turning in his grave at what your type have dragged the GOP into. You’re not fit for office and not a true conservative.

General Dan Caine, Trump’s handpicked Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, boast is not the flex he thinks it is. 10,000 missions. Sounds like an impressive display of independent US airpower until you see where they actually flew from. Some flew from carriers in the Arabian Sea, primarily the USS Abraham Lincoln. But one carrier can only generate around 70-80 sorties a day. The USS Gerald R. Ford? Damaged by fire and pulled out for repairs. Its replacement is still sailing from Norfolk, Virginia. You can’t run a war from one ship. 62 bomber missions. Only 18 flew from the US. Most of the remaining 44? RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, England. A British airfield in the Cotswolds is the heart of America’s bomber war against Iran. The F-35s and F-15Es? RAF Lakenheath, Suffolk. The F-15E shot down over Iran last week? 48th Fighter Wing based in England. The F-16 Wild Weasels suppressing Iranian air defences? Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany. The munitions? Likely drawn from US stockpiles at Ramstein, Germany. The aerial refuelling tankers that made all of it possible? Around 50 across the UK, Germany and Portugal. Another 35 in Spain, Italy, Greece and Bulgaria. That’s 85 tankers on European NATO soil. The US has zero permanently based fighters in the Middle East. Outside of one operational carrier, every fighter that flew over Iran came from or through European NATO bases. Without European NATO this war could not have been fought. That is not an opinion. It is a logistics fact. Trump told the world “the United States does not need the help of anyone.” Except the overwhelming majority of the 10,000 missions was only made possible thanks to the European NATO allies he spent two months insulting Maybe General Caine should remind Trump who actually holds all the cards. Has he even said thank you yet?

Today marks 28 years since the governments of Ireland and the United Kingdom signed the Good Friday Agreement, marking the end of the longest period of conflict in Irish history. As we celebrate the progress that's been achieved, we are reminded of the United States' role as a guarantor of the accord and our responsibility to help Ireland prepare to address a core provision within it: the question of a united Ireland.

Britain used to be led by men like this. • Sent to stop an assembling invasion force • Face impossible odds • Invent new battle doctrine on the spot • Lead from the front (suicide) • Win decisively! • Capture ALL enemy ships • Unexpectedly achieve total naval supremacy • Unexpectedly achieve global hegemony that lasts for 200 years. • Bleed out onboard your shattered flagship HMS Victory No other man has ever experienced such an afternoon.

@Iromg @juneh49 There’s plenty to criticise Labour MPs for, but this is just pathetic Mike. The screenshot you’ve shared shows £120k of that is staff wages, to pay researchers and caseworkers to help constituents. That is exactly what MPs should be claiming expenses for!

She literally did not want to leave the ECHR until a few months ago when her Attorney General gave her permission to change her mind and copy Reform. And on IRGC, almost 100 Tory MPs publicly urged Rishi to proscribe the IRGC in 2023. He kept refusing. Kemi was not involved in this debate because she was never interested in this major national security issue. On gender guidance in schools, the party utterly failed to fix the problem due to weak ministers. And we all know what happened with the hate marches. This is all fact. The list goes on and on. Same old Tories. They want everyone to ignore their record in government. Trouble is, millions of people will never forget their betrayal, lies and weakness.
GB News@GBNEWS

'There was no Cabinet meeting that I was in where the IRGC was discussed. We need to stop believing everything people say!' Conservative Leader Kemi Badenoch disputes Reform MP Suella Braverman's claim the Tory Party chose not to proscribe the IRGC in the last Parliament.

Noting the Conservative Party’s defence policy announcement. If the British Army were to be increased in size to 80,000 regular soldiers, this would allow it to generate 6 combat brigades that would be deployable without relying on the Army Reserve. It would enable gaps in artillery, engineer, and logistical support units to be filled. Meanwhile, 40,000 reservists would allow a second echelon force (a third division) to be generated, but also every infantry and RAC cap badge would be able to generate a reserve battalion/ regiment. Not perfect, but definitely a step in the right direction.
