Just toured a cutting-edge oil site in Texas, where American innovation is making energy production cleaner, faster, smarter and safer than ever. This is American Energy Dominance in action, and Texas is leading the way to make energy more affordable for American families. 🇺🇸

When you see a wacky wildlife management policy for large predators, you can guarantee that D.C. NGOs bankrolled by opaque foundations and high net worth (often foreign!) individuals are behind it. It’s never something locals push for organically, it’s all outside “campaign” money that you can’t easily trace unless you want to dig through a bunch of old tax paperwork. You may want to be left alone and not have your dog eaten, but the Center for Biological Diversity (CBD) has other plans for you. The model for how this process works is the fleet of lawyers for the CBD (and other NGOs) leverage America’s incredibly strict endangered species law, the Endangered Species Act (ESA). They use never-ending lawfare, suing the Fish and Wildlife Service full time to take advantage of uncertainties that are normal in biology to place populations under the strictest legal protections until we “know more,” but the trick is we will never know enough for the ratcheted up protections to go away. This is why grizzlies are still listed as endangered despite meeting recovery targets a long time ago, why reintroduced wolves in Colorado can eat your cow and you can’t do anything about it, etc. Who pays for these campaigns? Well, it’s hard to say unless you want to dig through some 1099s. The best we can do is look at past major donors and speculate that today’s major donors are similar. Here are a select few: Hansjörg Wyss (Swiss billionaire, his foundations help pay for Kamala HQ), Google co-founder Eric Schmidt’s Schmidt Family Foundation, Herb and Marion Sandler’s Sandler Foundation (NYC billionaires), Fred Stanback (NC pharma billionaire), Carroll Petrie (SC/FL billionaire). You may say, “I thought wildlife was better managed by local people who give input to their fish and wildlife agency biologists who make recommendations to their wildlife commissions.” Yes, that’s how the system was designed, but today, we are living in an NGO dictatorship, where policies vaguely favored by billionaires (who don’t live by you) are shoved down your throats by endless lawsuits waged in courts by DC NGOs. All the while their media savvy campaigns depict you as a redneck if you object!

The extremely California reason for this is that the cougars in Malibu are too inbred, and though cougars are not remotely endangered or rare the state decided to divide them into subpopulations and then panic about the imminent extinction of the inbred Malibu ones specifically

Quick review of The Madison on @paramountplus: An absolute masterpiece. If you enjoy A River Runs Through It, this show is for you. One of Taylor Sheridan's best shows. But it even goes deeper than fly fishing about life, family, and channeling your inner rugged individualist. Beautiful scenery, and great acting by Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell too.

I write about nature and believe paying $115M for a wildlife crossing for inbred mountain lions that don't traverse highways is absurd. Wildlife crossings help ungulates like deer/elk. This is a boondoogle by California rewilders and preservationists to erase hunter-conservationist input in wildlife management decisions.

We hate to see people who know jack-shit about nature attempt to write about it, folks.

Affordability is the hot new political buzzword. A tax-and-spend agenda is NOT how you lower the cost of living. Presenting @IWF's new special report: Reclaiming Affordability: Winning the Cost War with the Right Solutions. Led by @PatricePinkFile, I was honored to author the energy chapter. The same anti-fossil-fuel politicians who spent the last decade sabotaging our electricity supply are now saying we should sabotage demand through a data center moratorium. How about instead we abandon anti-fossil-fuel policies so supply can meet demand and we can be prosperous?

Governor, California has strangled its own oil and gas production as well as its refinery capacity, driving up CA energy prices to 40% higher than the country as a whole — 100% higher in the case of electricity prices. California imports the majority of its oil from overseas, including the Middle East, and consumes more hydrocarbons than most other states. California is losing residents faster than any state in the country. Your comments are either ignorant or insincere. Either way, that’s not energy, economic OR environmental leadership…that’s outsourcing reality.
Governor Gavin Newsom@CAgovernor

Trump knew his war with Iran would raise gas prices. Now he wants to illegally resurrect a pipeline shut down by courts and facing criminal charges. And it won't even cut prices. I refuse to let Trump sacrifice Californians, our environment, or our $51 billion coastal economy.
