Bactopia now supports AllTheBacteria assemblies! 🎉 If you are planning secondary analyses, this feature allows you to seamlessly use Bactopia. To demonstrate this, here's a blog post using Bactopia to analyze 5400 L. pneumophila assemblies bactopia.github.io/latest/blog/20…

Bactopia is in pretty good company with @nf_core! If Bactopia has been useful for you consider starring it, it's a metric I can use when applying for funding (haha unsuccessfully so far!), but mostly it's very motivating for continued development! github.com/bactopia/bacto…

Cholera requires an integrated approach using robust and early detection and effective case management of cases. Prevention is key - vaccines work in the immediate term and WSH is the long term solution.

Move over, Norse Gods – Marvel at new Asgard archaea named instead (@luisarchaeota) for the Puerto Rican goddess of the soil, Atabeya. Atabeyarchaeia is a new member of the lineage now widely believed to have given rise to eukaryotes – that is fungi, algae, trees and us.

.@WHO has published cholera statistics for 2022 and the reality is sobering - cases were reported in 44 countries, representing a doubling of the case count when compared to 2021. Action and resources are needed to #EndCholera. who.int/news/item/22-0…
