Today at DETCOG: Our transportation planning consultants are leading a discussion with regional stakeholders on the state of public transportation in Deep East Texas -- part of our partnership with @TxDOT to update the Regional Public Transportation Coordination Plan.

Suzanne Barnard, State Director of the TxCDBG program with the @TexasDeptofAg is at DETCOG today conducting a regional outreach meeting with regional stakeholders. This program provides federal funds to rural cities and counties for infrastructure improvements.

It's great to have Charlie Glover of the @TLLTemple Foundation participating on a panel discussion on Philanthropic Investments for Rural America at the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) Washington Policy Conference.

It's DETCOG Board Meeting Day in Houston County. We started with a reception at the courthouse in Crockett in recognition of our 60th anniversary year. Thanks to all who came!

@TDEM District Chief Jon Clingaman is teaching @fema series 300 and 400 incident command courses at DETCOG this week. This training is for mid-to-high-level personnel managing expanding or complex incidents and large-scale, multi-agency incidents.

Our Wellness Program won awards for Highest Participation and Most Improved Participation at the @TexasCounties Healthy County Conference. Proud of our entire staff for earning this recognition -- especially Lacy Sargent and Kimberly Rodgers for coordinating our wellness program!

The DETCOG office will close at 11:45 today (Dec. 5) and will re-open on Monday. Staff will be attending our annual Employee Appreciation Event this afternoon. This event is held to thank our staff for the outstanding work they do year-round.
