Since I've gained about 1k followers in the past 2 days, I figure I should properly introduce myself. Howdy! I'm Jackson. I'm an 18 YO storm chaser from the DFW metro. I've been storm chasing for 7 years with help of my parents. I'm also interested in history, geography, cars, video games, and college sports (Hook em'). I'm a cancer survivor and suffer from a PI, so medical issues may be discussed on here. I'm planning on studying meteorology at the University of South Alabama come this fall, and I'm hoping to eventually get a masters degree at OU. My notable achievements are: -Driving in a roundabout for an hour -Listening to a funny Deltarune song -Getting stuck in the mud -Being deemed "Texan final boss" I do everything in honor of the friends who I've lost on the path to be where I am today (JD, NN, DB, GS, HLM, DM, JH, CH). So y'all came here for the funny moments, but y'all should stay for the beauty of nature! Enjoy my stupidity!

I am THRILLED to announce that I have started training at WVUA 23 in Tuscaloosa to eventually start weekends later this summer! It has been a dream of mine since the 2nd grade to be a broadcast meteorologist, and though we have a bit more work to do, I am so happy to take this massive leap in the right direction. I am so excited to start serving West Alabama very soon…and don’t worry, that orange tie will stay on as long as it can. #wvua23 #alwx

DISTRACTED DRIVING. This was from my chase this past Sunday. This is especially for solo grinders. We all do it. We're checking radar, we're checking the phone, we're chatting on our radios, all of the tasks involved with chasing are numerous. The road is empty...noone is around...or so we think. At a moments notice, an abandoned vehicle sits half on the road. Thankfully I looked up, as we often do...but still, had I been locked into my screen for just a second or two longer...or if someone was coming in the other lane, or if it was raining. Its impossible to avoid the many distractions we face. But try, try and TRY.

On, or about August 31, 2026 at 1200 UTC, the RRFS (Rapid Refresh Forecast System) and the REFS (RRFS Ensemble Forecast System) will be fully implemented into operational use, and replace/retire the following, soon-to-be legacy models: • NAM, and its inner nests (32/12/3km). • SREF (Short Range Ensemble Forecast) • HREF (High-Resolution Ensemble Forecast) • HRW (High-Res Window, includes ARW/NSSL/FV3), with the exception of Guam.

May 11, 1999: An incredibly intense F4 struck near Loyal Valley, Texas. The massive wedge damaged or destroyed 18 homes, shredded mesquite trees, produced widespread ground scouring, and ripped up a large swath of asphalt. One person was killed and six were injured. #wxhistory
