One of my players gave me a review on @startplaying that really touched me. It makes me feel like I have accomplished what I set out to do with my game & world when I returned to the table three years ago. Next month I’m taking my stories to the masses via VTT games. #ttrpg #dnd

@DFW_DM_Monty @TimothyImholt Judging from the banter in the replies, I would say that is a parody account. Also, in the Phoenix area, you will be hard pressed to find ANY black concrete or white buildings. Even Walmarts are colored a non-glaring adobe brown.

@DungeonNoir Trade for food…Thri-Kreen trader: so tell me of your linkage and strengths…my little snack! Played in a game where I and another player were Thri-Kreen. We kept referring to the elves in the party as snacks in our native tongue…as a pet name.

@DungeonNoir Made them more immersive to me. Little details go a long way for me. Kind of like the fun “notes” they have added to some 5e books like Fizben’s.

@InfinitaleComic @CorpseKings @Damienx247 It allows people to easily differentiate between editions. I can look at my book spines alone and tell you which edition across all five, each of my books belongs to. That is all thanks to “rebranding” each edition’s logos and look.

Modern logos suck. It's time to go back.

@CorpseKings @DungeonNoir Which is a sad choice by WotC. Take the logo from Eberron: Rising from the Last War on the standard cover. It’s very sterile and boring. Then compare it to the logo from the alt art cover, which is alive and harkens back to 2e logos. They should do more like this.

@TimothyImholt As my daughter had her flight canceled today I can say what Spirt has posted. Any paid flights are being automatically refunded. Any voucher flights have to go through bankruptcy court.

Legit question, as I don't know. All the people who paid for flights in advance for the summer, thereby draining their vacation fund....Is that money gone?

@LawDogStrikes 2 sets. One is a standard set that I have used (especially for dwarves as they fit the theme) with a dice tray. The other, I just got as an Amazon Haul $0.01 item. I had some points so with shipping I paid $0.50. They are a small set which has a nice clear tube & keyring attached

#ttrpg #RPGstuffdaily Metal Dice Not to sound like Jerry Seinfeld, but what's the deal with metal dice? I'll admit, I have a set, a gift from a friend. I'm not even questioning large collections of dice. After almost five decades in the hobby, I've amassed more dice that I can every use. But what is it with metal dice specifically? I find them too heavy and potentially damaging to be rolling on something like a wooden table. In many cases they are very expensive and it would make me afraid of losing them. Now the caveat is they will most likely never wear out. I've got some original D&D dice that look like chewed plastic. But honestly, aren't they more bling than function? An interesting novelty item that screams "look at me"? Anybody out there have multiple sets? And if so, do you use them at the table?

@TheArtfulDM Let’s give credit where credit is due 1) Lawrence Kasdan & Lucas cowrote RotJ 2) Richard Marquand directed 3) Bob Anderson was the sword choreographer and stunt double for Vader’s fight scenes including this one I attribute the greatness of this scene to the last two.

Even George Lucas can make mistakes. But the lightsaber duel at the end of RotJ was not one of them. In fact, I would call this entire scene his crowning glory. I don't know about y'all, but in the theater I was at 1983, movie goers were ON THEIR FEET. The duel in ESB is better, but this one...is...heavy. You feel every swing.

@rpgcyrusrite @CorpseKings @startplaying is how you do it or you go to your local game shop or game cafe and see if they need paid DMs to run games. Some may pay in store credit. Some will also ask for an audition session after an interview before committing.

@CorpseKings How does one become a professional DM? Is it self declaration, mail order, Tech school?

I am sincerely interested in hearing from people who work as professional DM's. That, or have experiences with that world at all. Is it beneficial? Financially viable? Fun? Do you have any great anecdotes? Why do you do it? 🎲

@GaryD20Games That’s like asking why Pavlov’s dog salivated at the sound of a bell. Through traps, ambushes, and other malicious things, we DMs have conditioned them to be this way.

@Grand_DM I had a PC lose an eye to a Blood Hawk on an island we were on to explore a haunted castle. TPK except me - I escaped. I never let magic heal that eye (DM said 👍 ) & took the penalties to ranged attacks. Eventually got another party, returned to the island, retrieved my friends.

After all these years I still just want RPG scars. Not polished backstory or safe narrative, just marks left by actual play. PCs carry them. Worlds show them. What scar is your table still limping from?
