Does a scratch golfer make more birdies than a 10 handicap? I just hear Scott Fawcett say: "A scratch golfers makes .9 more birdies than a 10 handicap." That is not a big difference, I was actually surprised. So what is the difference? Bogey and double avoidance. Aggressive swings to conservative targets is your biggest opportunity. If you are a 10 and want to be scratch it isn't about making more birdies it is about making less mistakes.

@LukeKerrDineen You are going to do that drill and stop early extending but pulling your shots on the range. Then not know why you can’t hit your target on the course. And you will then begin early extending again. B/c it is not a body movement problem. It’s a eyes set up grip problem.

@DJMC25 Yeah but you can be sure Gotterup is generally better off from 50 yards than say 80 or 100 yards, which is why I posed the question for the specific scenario.

The shot Gotterup had in on 6. Is that one of the rare examples where being slightly further away from the hole may have been beneficial? (He had 50 yards to tight front flag from fairway, tried to bump it in there due, left it short, missed green). Yes, I understand SG data.
