For those of Anglo-Scot-Irish ancestry, I've generally heard only those listed, plus Ma(w)ma(w), Pa(w)pa(w) if male, and Mimi. (Last one, I havd no idea where that came from, but it's over 50 years old.) Obviously, there are also some ethnic variations that are essentially equivalents when translated into English, and have generationally stuck, long after the family lost the ability to speak the family's original native tongue. The only truly unique one that I've heard is my great-aunt, who became a grandmother quite young and her oldest grandchild called her "Bye" (as in "bye-bye"/"good bye") and it stuck. And then there's my cousin, who decided to adopted ghetto white (rap) culture which is not much different than ghetto black (rap) culture these days.

Well, as far as the movies themselves were concerned, Carrie Fisher did die. So, I am not going to begrudge them that one for the sequel trilogy. Parks...different matter. Of course, the last time that I set foot in a Disney park was the Ambien-related car accident and golf club attack heard round the world.

I was at Disney when the Land launched. In fact, I personally wrote a lot of the copy for the Star Wars Land rides and the Star Wars hotel in the marketing materials and for the website. When I say there was crushing disappointment, almost a feeling of betrayal that the whole thing was on the new IP and not the original IP, I am not exaggerating. Disney made the decision to invest this money in order to support the new trilogy, which they thought would erase the old one in the minds of fans. The level of hubris around this is one for the business industry history books. Bob Chapek, who was head of Parks at the time (since fired in disgrace), was in charge of greenlighting all creative in Star Wars Land. He killed things like a lifesize Bantha ride where guests would ride around the land on top of a Bantha. He killed the live show at the cantina. And most importantly, he gave the land its own lame subplot where you had to use your phone to scan kiosks and get some code messages deciphered so you were "part of the Resistance," but it had no payoff. Then reality struck: they made a trilogy that destroyed the OG characters. They elevated an insufferably annoying mary sue girl boss, added a pathetic loser son of Han, a divorced Leia and Han, a disillusioned and bitter Luke, and then killed Luke, Han, and Leia. Result: JJ Abrams' career was finished as a filmmaker. Rian Johnson was wrecked. Kathleen Kennedy is finally out as head of Lucas. Chapek out. Disney movies are garbage. The greatest entertainment IP ever created was lit on fire to appease the egos of the geniuses who bought it and thought they could outdo the original genius. And now it's too late. No one cares that Darth will be walking around again to John Williams score. The new Leia face character looks like Brenda from HR. By the way, Tomorrowland already HAD Stormtrooper) (the original ones, not the new fat ones_, Jedis, and Darth in a wonderful live show for years. My kids all took part in light saber battles against Darth Vader many times. It was hilarious and thrilling. Killed in favor of the new slop. Absolutely over.

To visit presidential homes is to know America. I have visited almost every publicly available presidential home except Grant's Adirondack cottage & FDR's Campobello, plus a few that aren't public, like Monroe's Oak Hill. Each home is revealing & fascinating.

Our local coffee shop has a small TRADITIONAL rainbow flag, but they genuinely welcome everyone...not just those who subscribe to the staff's likely political views. Then again, when you're in a stereotypical political center, suburban Atlanta neighborhood (we have the Braves, UGH!), it's best to NOT alienate half the locals.

Signs your restaurant or coffee shop will slap: 1. Rainbow flag somewhere in establishment 2. Ladies with blue or green dyed hair 3. Ladies with a rat tail 4. Ladies with armpit hair If you have any combo of these, it will be fantastic. All four? It will be unforgettable.

Uh, Lutheran is not Calvinistic. Anglican is not Calvinistic. Methodist is not Calvinistic. Congregationalist is not necessarily Calvinistic. Most Baptists are not Calvinistic And the Presbyterian and Reformed, while the descendants of Calvin, have two major strands - Anglo-Scottish and Continental, which have differences in practice. More importantly, you obviously have never read Calvin, only read about Calvin, so you demonstrate what an ignorant person you are by that comment. Therefore, your ignorance of what constitutes the mainline and what doesn't is rather obvious.

The collapse of mainline Protestantism in the 20th century was a tragedy. The protagonist in the tragedy was the mainline and, as with any tragedy, it had a fatal flaw: pride. It is why scenes like this, once extremely common, are less so today.
