@Momsandstuff @Katy_Faust Yes! When babies start making the "mmmm" or "mmma" sounds, anyone with an ounce of care for the child is cheering them on to finish the word.

@Katy_Faust Also, it seems like the baby is responding to the “dad” chastising him. My husband made the point that moms parrot back the baby’s babbling, even if the baby doesn’t “know” what he’s saying. Instead this guy tells the baby “no.” Babies need moms!

“He’s five months old. He doesn’t understand English.” Right. The baby understands something deeper. Why is it that “mama” (or some version of it) shows up in nearly every language on earth? Chinese, Arabic, Spanish. Cultures separated by continents, histories, and entirely different linguistic families — and yet they all landed on the same sound for the same person? That’s not coincidence. That’s anthropology. “Ma” is one of the very first sounds a baby can make. It’s the natural position of the mouth during nursing. Long before a child understands words, he forms that sound. And who answers? Across time, across cultures, across civilizations it is the woman who carried him, the woman whose body he knows. Humanity didn’t invent “mama.” We recognized it. So no, he doesn’t understand English. But he does understand that something (or someone) is missing. And what makes that video so disturbing isn’t just the cruelty of laughing at a distressed baby. It’s the denial of the human non-negotiable that children come from, and are made for, a mother. They can mock the baby's babbling. But the can't erase the reality it points to. That baby isn’t confused. The gay men are.
Collin Rugg@CollinRugg

NEW: The gay man with a surrogate baby is standing by his video of his baby saying 'Mama' following online backlash, tells the Daily Mail that he finds the video "hilarious." 51-year-old Grammy Award winner Shane McAnally says he and his husband find the video "hilarious." "We found it hilarious. He's five months old, he obviously doesn't understand English." "I was appalled by what some people have been saying. Some people have taken it out of context." "Babies usually say dada first, but people wouldn't then say the babies are only wanting their dads? It doesn't really make sense." Every child deserves a mother.

@gsbnym @Braves_Jerseys They're elite for hometown broadcasts. They're supposed to be biased, it's their job like every hometown crew. Talk about pot calling the kettle black.

@AtticusHonor @Braves_Jerseys Totally fine that theyre in the tank for the braves. Just dont say theyre elite while also saying theyre biased. Braves fans have the lowest baseball iq of any fanbase in baseball. Also, most fair weather base in the league.

@RadiNabulsi The real map is a county map. Arkansas is 100% southern. I'll remove some northern Kentucky counties, and add southern Virginian and northern Florida counties. The Ozarks in Missouri are southern too.

@jay7397 @TommyJoeMartins Terry and Kellogg's went hand in hand. When you saw the bowtie, you thought Earnhardt. When you saw the blue oval, you thought Jarrett. Kids urged their parents to buy the expensive laundry detergent because they were on Rudd's car.

@TommyJoeMartins I tried to make a similar point earlier today and a few people got angry. Back when there were full season sponsors for most teams, those sponsors would spend to heavily promote the drivers. That is not as likely to happen now when the sponsorship is split up over the season

It's not a star-power problem. It's an advertising problem. The drivers you loved in the 90's and 00's had big corporate sponsorships and they spent $ to make them stars, not the teams or league. MAJOR consumer brands activating. Now costs are WAY up, and media is fractured.
Frontstretch@Frontstretch

Many have blamed rule changes, the Gen7 car, and horsepower levels, alongside a host of other issues, for NASCAR's viewership and attendance problems. But the real culprit for viewership and attendance problems could be the lack of star power in NASCAR. frontstretch.com/2026/04/15/nas…

Mamdani singled out and named a private citizen not for a crime or corruption, but for the offense of having money and owning a home. That is how third-world despots operate. I do not know how it works in Uganda, but in America we do not build policy around punishing people, and we do not declare law-abiding citizens enemies of the state or take their money simply because the mayor dislikes them. Taxes exist to fund the functioning of a city. They are not instruments of revenge or tools to satisfy a mayor’s personal envy. This has no place in New York City and runs against everything America stands for, but if you import the third world, you become the third world.
Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani@NYCMayor

Happy Tax Day, New York. We’re taxing the rich.

@aggie19alpha @SnobBae @undercoverags "Blue Blood" implies old money. As a Georgia fan, I'm not even comfortable calling us a blue blood. Nebraska (along with Oklahoma) dominated the Big 8. They were one of the most dominant teams in their region during the formative years of the poll era CFB

I-16 from Macon, GA to Savannah, GA is one of the most boring drives you’ll ever take. The good news is that until you get to Pooler, GA, you can run about 100 and not have to hit your brakes
🌙Eric C.🌴@EricC_2002

Ya know I have an idea: ranking boring stretches of interstate 1. I-95 through South Carolina (exception is over Lake Madison) 2. I-20 in Georgia from Augusta to Lake Oconee 3. I-95 in North Carolina 4. I-95 in Virginia (except near Richmond and DC)

@KamalaHarris Kamala would've gotten us into war with Iran too. And gas prices would've started in the mid $3.00 when that started, so prices would be even higher than they are now

Here in North Carolina and around the country, gas prices are too high. This is a direct result of Donald Trump's war of choice in Iran, and the American people are paying the price.

@HamDawg115 ... game in 2020. Their winning percentage since then is a measly 45%. They've fired 2 coaches. They're winless against Georgia; 1-4 against LSU; 2-3 against a Tennessee program they previously beat 16 times in the span of 17 years; and got swept an a H&H against Miami.

White uniform history: when Dooley became coach in 1964 the original uniform design was a white helmet, with either a red or black G, red/black/red stripe & gray face mask, red jersey & white pants with red/black/red stripe. Dooley nixed them for the current red helmet design🤯🤔
