@yhdistyminen i find it very interesting a lot of these replies are people trying and failing to find an analog to what youre talking about here. theyre not even all entirely disingenuous, but it’s like a fundamental inability to grasp exactly what your point is here.

One reason this conversation blew up is that, when I suggested that most pro-lifers do not actually believe abortion is murder, PoliMath assumed I was mocking them or tarnishing them as "evil" rather than making a neutral observation. He could not model my mind.

That logic doesn't really follow at all. Alcohol consumption also increases violent crime, does knowing that mean that I want to secretly ban all alcohol consumption? Or that anyone who wants any form of licensing restrictions on where and when alcohol can be sold must really be trying to incrementally approach complete temperance? Cars cause a lot of fatalities too, does wanting any laws of harm reduction (seatbelts, speed limits, licensing) mean you must therefore want to actually ban cars? Not at all analogous to the original topic of the logical implication of thinking abortion is literally murder at all either
