Today we are lifting 450,000 children out of poverty with the end of the two-child limit. This Labour Government is achieving the biggest reduction in child poverty over a Parliament since records began. Change promised. Change delivered.

The 2 child benefit cap ends today. Ever wonder who is going to benefit the most?

I joined a debate on pensions in which the complaint was 1 in 4 pensioners were millionaires, which of course includes property. I pointed out that a Universal Credit claim would not count a main home as capital. Would a means tested State Pension have similar rules?

One of the reasons you often find elderly people, on their own, in a large house is stamp duty. If they downsize they get clobbered for tax so it isn't economically viable. Abolish stamp duty on downsizers and we will see a huge shift in the market. And HMRC get Tax on the resale

Many of us are at work today on a bank holiday, knowing full well that people on benefits have just got a bonus of £6000. I would have to work around 500 hours to get an extra 6k - they don’t have to do anything Why do we even bother

@sophielouisecc No household is better off out of work than they would be in work, remember to compare like with like. Check how much your household would be expected to live on if you didn't work by using a benefits calculator like "entitled to"
