@RBird101 Shouldn’t be a topic. They are two almost totally different flavor profiles, and highly subjective. The manner in which the topic is invitation is written already shows a bias.

This is actually trending on X? Whiskey social media has devolved over the last five years. This isn't a debate-worthy topic.

@SpencerHakimian This insightful juvenile name calling BS has got to stop…by both sides. When all you have to offer in response to questions, again both sides of the aisle being equally guilty, is name calling then you don’t have much to offer, it’s theatrical, juvenile & simply unprofessional.

In a totally empty late night plane, a ⁦@SouthwestAir⁩ flight attendant just refused to let me sit anywhere except the row where my ticket is, and where someone inexplicably bought the middle seat. As an 80+ segment a year business flyer, you’d better fix this nonsense SWA.

#NESOutageAlert January 25 2pm Freezing rain and ice have caused significant damage across the NES service area. Our lineworkers are operating in continuous rotations on extended 14–16-hour shifts to restore power as quickly as possible. About 220,000 customers are currently without power. At least 40 broken poles have been reported so far. More than 70 distribution circuits are in the process of being restored. Do NOT call 911 to report a power outage—we need to keep those lines open for emergencies. DO call 911 if you see a downed power line. Always assume downed lines are live and dangerous. How to Report an Outage: Text: OUT to 637797 (NESPWR) from the phone number linked to your account) Call: (615) 234-0000. Thank you for your patience as our crews and mutual aid partners work through these tough conditions.

@splork @NESpower Go to their website and inform them there. Although with dangerous power lines that have fallen they’ve said on their social media to call 911. The 911 system has been overloaded and they need the capacity for life threatening emergencies.

@NESpower A limb crashed into the power lines in front of the house. Power is out. It yanked down one of the lines. Not the big one but one of the smaller ones. Should I call 911 or just wait until NES fixes the power here

Neither the best nor the worst price I’ve seen on Knob Creek 12. And it’s better whiskey than ~85% of other stuff on most shelves. You don’t have to pay $100+ to drink good bourbon!

@FirebirdBo @WildTurkey Actually one of my favorite whiskeys of all time. Rich and mellow and a wonderful finish without the Ky hug. I just finished my one and only bottle not long ago. Wish more of the old stuff were around again.

To you, what’s the pinnacle of modern American whiskey? @michterswhiskey certainly makes a good case with Celebration Sour Mash, a rare blend inspired by legendary marriages of extraordinary cognacs, among other high end spirits. This 2022 release is just the fourth ever, produced under the guidance of Dan McKee (Master Distiller) and Andrea Wilson (Master of Maturation). It’s a seven barrel blend of Kentucky straight whiskeys — three bourbon, four rye — ranging in age from 12 to over 30 years old. The entire release was limited to just 328 bottles at 112.8 proof. I’ve been fortune enough to taste this extraordinary whiskey a couple of times, and while I normally write down notes and reviews for everything, I’ve made an exception here. Being present in the moment to drink and discuss this with good friends is a highlight along my career in spirits. Let’s just say it’s definitely among my favorite pours… It’s unclear when (or even if) we’ll ever see another Celebration Sour Mash release, since Michter’s only produces this and their age stated bottlings when they deem barrel stocks are right. Whether it’s the rarest bottle or a common shelfer, a reminder who you’re drinking with is often as important as what’s in the glass. Cheers!

@d_tao @MichtersWhiskey For me it is an old forester “Sputnik” distilled in 1952 and bottled in 1957. Awesome beverage. Does Michters produce some outstanding drink? Yes. Some of the best today. I just wished some of their older stuff was more readily available.

@d_tao @MichtersWhiskey How do you define “pinnacle”. My favorite isn’t made any more or certainly not in the manner it is today. Cost should not weigh (just saying because there are bunch of people that will see that question and go straight to something allocated). So what does “pinnacle” mean?
