About 800 people have been killed in ten days, and roughly 1.3 million people are now under displacement orders following Israeli directives targeting southern Lebanon and Beirut’s suburbs. Younes details how Lebanon’s already strained shelter system is struggling to cope with the mass displacement. Her reporting for Drop Site describes Israel’s campaign as focused on collective punishment, while also attempting to pit the Lebanese government against Hezbollah, with escalating strikes against civilian targets and infrastructure.
