The month of October is #BlackHistoryMonth. In honour of this, we'd like to bring your attention to 'The Black Child Down Syndrome Project' which was founded by a collective of four trailblazing mothers of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) children. ‘Black Children with Down syndrome are a minority, within a minority, within a minority and as such their stories and experiences often go unseen and unheard.’ - Danise B. Grant, BCDS Co-Founder. On 6 October 2025 at 5pm (GMT), as Black History Month and World Down Syndrome Awareness Month begins, the stories of these children and their families will illuminate the Piccadilly Lights, one of the most iconic public platforms in the world. Make sure to check it out if you can! Read our full blog here to find out more about the project: downs-syndrome.org.uk/news/news-rese…

📸 The Upbeats were presented with a @FIFAcom match ball ahead of @CAFCofficial’s win over Blackburn Rovers at The Valley. 🤝 This presentation was part of FIFA’s ‘Pass It On’ initiative, which connects FIFA staff with grassroots football projects around the world by gifting special edition match balls. The Upbeats were chosen as recipients in recognition of the progressive and safe environment the programme provides for players with Down’s syndrome to reach their full potential. 🌟 #cafc

The #CanadaDisabilityBenefit regulations are finalized. This is an important step, but the work isn’t over. We know the current benefit won’t meet the needs of many in our community, and we will continue to advocate for a stronger benefit. Read the full statement: buff.ly/Ic8PtwK
