In 2011, the ACGME limited consecutive work hours to 16 at a time. There was a 63% reduced risk in reported medical errors resulting in patient death. The ACGME has since reversed this rule.

Mask MANDATES are the only thing that will get the majority of the population masking again. We are not a “do the right thing of your own accord” type of society.

Pediatricians everywhere should be concerned about the #ICWA. Why? Native child health is tied to culture, kinship & language - all can suffer when Native kids are systemically removed from community w/o Tribal input. Ex) Indigenous youth suicide rates⬆️with language loss.

Take home: letters from mental health professionals do not make gender affirming hormones safer or improve mental health! and they have negative consequences.

3. The letter requirement negatively impacs the patient-provider relationship, and so is actually harmful. People end up self-censoring, or perform a version of transness their provider expect. The process erodes trust in care professionals, and worsens mental health!
