@cspramesh Some patients may not be offered surgery in view of very advanced disease when extensive surgery may not alter the disease course or they may not be fit for general anaesthesia.

@cspramesh Sorry, I beg to differ. All patients require surgery. The surgical debridement depends on the disease extent. Decreasing the disease load surgically is one of the most important factors determining prognosis.

@BDUTT @themojostory @BDUTT Mam, the fungus isn't black. Its a misnomer. The tissues turn black because of lack of blood supply when the fungus invades the blood vessels. The fungus belongs to the Mucorales family. Call it Mucor.
