👇🩺🏥🚑⚕️ Insightful article by @drkamnakakkar Women doctor’s voice must be heard as a part of systematic approach to improving the environment and conditions to safeguard against any type of abuse
Dr Kamna Kakkar@drkamnakakkar

I write on behalf of all women doctors who have kept quiet for so long, bearing the horrors of an abusive health education system that thrives on women's submission to silence. Not anymore! #justiceformoumitadebnath #KolkataDoctor #MeToo theprint.in/opinion/i-am-a…

@drkamnakakkar: We kept quiet, always. We didn’t want to inconvenience anyone with our otherwise legitimate needs. We kept quiet because of the fear of upsetting our higher-ups, who could fail us in our training exams. theprint.in/opinion/i-am-a…

A personal news: As cases were an all time low, I and Nikhil (both doctors of anaesthesiology) decided to tie the knot in an intimate ceremony. ❤️ youtu.be/u0y33oTm7K4

Since everyone is talking about CPR these days, I think this is the perfect time to narrate this story. 🧵 In 1880’s the body of a young girl was found in the River Seine in Paris. Her body showed no signs of physical injury, so it was suspected to be death due to suicide.

We are extremely sorry for how today's Spaces on Palliative Care unfolded. We tried to include everyone as Speakers but we couldn't due to the technical glitches. Apologies to all our panelists who weren't able to join due to technical issues.

Something that really troubles me - young girl with almost any medical condition - the most frequent question asked by parents “Will there be any problem in married life/ having kids”... I wish someone would ask - “ Will it affect her career/ quality of life/ happiness ?”...

@drkamnakakkar @rjVACHAS In our line of work, there are few things more comforting than being able to speak to the patient in his/her language and dialect. One must be proud of this ability. Only idiots look down upon it. I take immense pride in being able to use this skill set to put my pts at ease.

I couldn't believe my eyes. So I asked my colleague to read to me the recent Covid19 guidelines by DGHS @MoHFW_INDIA. I couldn't believe my ears too. The 9-page-PDF guides how to treat, investigate and monitor patients with Covid19 infection. What is the first surprise? 1/N

Just to clarify to avert further confusion: NOT 'ALL WOMEN'- read it as 'some women' NOT ALL VILLAGES- read it as 'some villages'. NOT ALL 'CELL PHONES'- read it as 'internet enabled smart phones' NOT SPECIFICALLY JUST HARYANA- read it as 'rural belt of North India'

Women in rural Haryana are not allowed to use a cell-phone, due to various 'cultural and social obligations'. This is concerning because vaccine registrations are online. Help must reach them asap. They are technologically disadvantaged! #womenshealth
