@Top100Rick I guess "villain" is relative. Do I want to be buddies with him...probably not. But, in the big picture, he's a guy who plays golf brilliantly and has an (apparently) crappy personality. Not ready to tar and feather him quite yet.

Any Wyndham Clark fans out there? His swing is pretty sick. He can flat out hit the ball. But his locker bashing and club throwing antics have made him very unlikeable. Just seems unapologetic for anything. Sport needs villains. He’s a good one.

@liam_mchugh Two things can be true: 1) In year 1 everyone knew their draft conditions were more favorable than any previous expansion team’s 2) after their initial draft no one (and I mean no one) thought they were going to be any good that first year.

@mayorNHL The last restart. They botched the previous one. Should have had 4 laps of racing to finish but it was exciting nonetheless.

One of the best Indy 500s ever. Such an incredible race all day and thrilling finish. Absolutely gut-wrenching for Malukas. Just horrible. Will haunt him for a long time. #Indy500

All I’m saying is I’ve rarely met a 10-handicap who doesn’t claim to hit their 5-iron 200 yards. And… I’ve never seen a 10-handicap hit their 5-iron 200 yards.

Alright. Rickey Henderson is at third base. One out. Tie game. Bottom of the 9th. You’re the fielding team. DEEP fly ball to right field. Who do you want as your right fielder?

37 years ago, the world lost Gilda Radner I often think of the sketch. Hours after she died, Steve Martin hosted SNL and scrapped his monologue. With tears in his eyes, and a joke, the show paid tribute to her with their classic: Dancing in the Dark.

@AndrewKnollNHL As far as I'm concerned, they can skip all media availability in the Western Conference Final and keep launching draft picks into the sun. I fully endorse their strategy. 😎

@chadmumm While I would say that Chambers Bay far surpassed my expectations when I played it, I'm still not convinced it's a great professional tournament venue. Truly poor for spectating especially.

Mike Rowe had his mother, best selling author Peggy Rowe on his recent podcast. After her daily morning swim, Peggy saw a woman's backside in the locker room. She had an unusual tattoo on her rear-end, so Peggy asked her about it. You won't believe what it was. 😂

@RinkRoyalty Hard pass. Has never been a difference maker anywhere he's been despite the apparent potential. (At least not enough of a difference maker for anyone to want him to stick around). Sometimes a player just is what he is.

Could Patrik Laine become a risky reclamation project for the Kings this offseason? Breaking down why LA could consider gambling on Laine’s elite scoring upside despite the concerns surrounding fit, injuries, and long-term consistency. rinkroyalty.com/the-la-kings-c…

@adplacksports @KylePorterNS I think the trouble with the course set-up discourse is the context and motivation of who is questioning it. If you're in the gambling/analytics group you'd love predictability (albeit predictably that requires some work to gain advantage). The rest of us crave unpredictability.

The problem with venues like Aronimink isn't the pin positions, its the penalty of small misses vs. big misses. Surprisingly, of long players, short players, accurate players, and inaccurate players, the group that performed the highest above their baseline at Aronimink were inaccurate players, which doesn't really necessarily past the eye test if you are watching coverage, because there was a clear penalty for missing the fairway by a couple yards. Yet there were countless instances where super inaccurate players were in less peril with a 30 yard miss than a 3 yard miss (15th hole is a good example). Inaccurate players performed a whopping 0.68 strokes higher than their baseline last week. This doesn't mean that accuracy isn't rewarded, it just means that you want to live in either extreme- a concept I talked about on Bet the Process last week. The PGA at Oak Hill and US Open at Torrey Pines (amongst others) have had the same problem, and I unfortunately am not sure I have a solution for it that doesn't compromise the walking ability of fans.

@patrickjkoenig For the bulk of people there is no "first experience". There's either "none" or "only". That's a tough one to live up to as great as Pebble Beach can be. And the people that are only going to experience it once are in no hurry to get it over with (especially at the price).

The last 3 people that told me about their first experience at Pebble Beach all said that their most powerful memory was how expensive everything was. The second thing they mentioned was how slow the round of golf was.

@JWPatarino I don't understand what's hilarious about this? It seems like the logical correct move with what the Kings currently have on the organizational goalie depth chart. I always thought when they acquired him that '25-26 would be his last as a King.
