@LarryVelez @theo Not sure what stack you’re using but I use create dev run script commands in package json which captures the port. Then the agents md file can just say to run the start script and not worry about ports, eg pnpm db / pnpm dev

I do the same with Wexterm. One tab per project split for all backend processes. But your idea of matching ports to project number is a good one. I tried localist subdomains, but that does not seem to work. I also have a script all agents share which helps them restart the backend process tabs when needed. I do need to find a way to have the LLMs not hallucinate the default port. Probably just weak agent file config on my part.

@sebherrerabe @theo Agree that would be a nice addition, especially if you want to start a quick new experiment project. On windows, there is a desktop launcher within powertools that’s pretty great. Haven’t setup anything similar on my mac setup yet.

@DanePoyzer @theo Sounds good! Would be great to automate the creation process of these desktops from wherever you start up your project (Claude, cursor, etc).

@rafazaya @theo Haven’t tried niri, I’ve been using vanilla macOS desktops. Will check it out

@DanePoyzer @theo I started using niri just before I got into claude code, but that way of scrolling horizontally within a project, and vertically between projects fits my mental model quite well. The annoying thing was to create browser profiles to spawn new browser windows in each workspace.

@theo Can the switch between projects with a finger swipe and all apps are on the same project at the same time. Best way I’ve found to handle the context switching. Try and minimise to being just the problem and not the periphery of apps to refocus

@theo I use a virtual desktop for each I use tmux, with a window for each project split into panes across server/shell/agent. I name the panes so that when I get a ping it’s clear which I match local db/server ports eg proj 1 is 8081/3001 and so on Terminal/browser/ide per desktop

@Mappletons This was a fantastic read, eloquently written and your diagrams are things of beauty. Consider me a fan. I've been deep of the weeds of gas town, and I can't disagree with your assessment of it today. But it has something and has captured me, fwiw.

I have Gas Town derangement syndrome and spent the last few weeks writing too many words on agent orchestration patterns; how they shift our bottlenecks and force us to ask whether and when we should stop looking at code (link below because this platform is still trash)

I’ve been running Gas Town this week by @Steve_Yegge En masse agent orchestration across multiple projects. It’s early, obtuse and definitely buggy but I keep getting glimpses of staggering sustained output. Worth checking out.

I built a claude code plugin around @thedankoe's identity change framework. 3 phases: - Interactive transformation session - Daily interrupts that catch you in actual behavior - Weekly synthesis showing patterns over time Free & open source: x.com/DanePoyzer/sta…

@thedankoe Insanely great! Really tried it and it's genuinely powerful, intensely uncomfortable, but cathartic and necessary. I've made it into an interactive Claude plugin: transformation session → daily interrupts → weekly synthesis. Would love your thoughts? github.com/Xexr/marketpla…

@thedankoe To install in claude code: /plugin marketplace add xexr/marketplace /plugin install identity@xexr-marketplace Then just type /identity to start. Transformation is the deep session, interrupt is daily check-ins, synthesis is weekly review. It's uncomfy, but you need to hear it.

@benjamincrozat Feel this. The job demands unbroken thought to be half competent and it’s incompatible. I haven’t found the answer yet. I love that I get to spend so much time with them but it’s really hard. I think I need to just accept that this is the current phase of my life.

Dad developers. How can you even work at home when you have a kid and a pregnant wife who are always interrupting you? Yes, I have my own office. But it seems like they are mistaking it for a hallway or something.

I am once again begging you to start writing and publishing. A lot of the time it feels like you're posting into the void, but sometimes it doesn't! You never know who is reading

@Claude I love that you can easily fork any of these and make your own version. Spot a bug in my implementation? Don't like my style choices? Want a language selector? Click fork and ask for your iteration in minutes. So cool, the future is now.

I made a version of a word connections game with tweakable grid sizes in like 30 mins. @Claude Artifacts with direct ai integration is really quite something. Feels like the time of personal software has arrived for everyone. claude.ai/public/artifac…
