As the temperatures rose in southern Pakistan, so did the body count. The Edhi ambulance service says it usually takes around 30 to 40 people to the Karachi city morgue daily. But over the last six days, it has collected some 568 bodies - 141 of them on Tuesday alone. It is too early to say exactly what the cause of death was in every case. However, the rising numbers of dead came as temperatures in Karachi soared above 40C (104F), with the high humidity making it feel as hot as 49C, reports said. People have been heading to hospitals seeking help.

One month after Cyclone Remal struck Bangladesh, the country is still grappling with the aftermath of one of the most devastating cyclones in recent years. The cyclone affected 4.6 million people in 19 districts, causing extensive damage to homes, infrastructure, and livelihoods. In anticipation of the cyclone, volunteers from the Bangladesh Red Crescent @BDRCS1 were actively engaged in local communities, disseminating awareness messages. Cyclone Remal serves as a stark reminder of the importance of enhancing early warning systems. The IFRC has launched an emergency appeal to support the life-saving response. We urge the international community to stand with Bangladesh during this critical time. bit.ly/45FAera

Prolonged, heavy rainfall in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of #Mongolia, has caused rivers to swell to dangerously high levels, leading to severe flooding affecting multiple districts, including Bayanzurkh, Bayangol, and Sukhbaatar, where tens of thousands of homes have lost power and sustained varying degrees of damage. @RedCrossmn is spearheading the response efforts, coordinating assessment operations, supporting evacuations and m emergency shelters. The @ifrc is closely monitoring the situation with Mongolian Red Cross to ensure affected communities receive the assistance they urgently need during this challenging time.

Devastating reports of heavy rains, flash floods + landslides in #Rohingya camps. Injuries, fatalities, shelters damaged, households displaced. Parents are just trying to keep families safe. This regular onslaught is overwhelming – we need a long-term plan for camp design.

Massive flood event forecast for Central America over the next 2 weeks!! Certainly possible some locations will receive >4 feet of rain!! Terrain makes it life-threatening with flash flooding. The reason: a common, but unusually strong and persistent, Central American Gyre.
