You’ve all been asking for the video. This is the moment I detained an assault suspect who was out-running police officers in Swindon on Sunday. 27-year-old local man Dale Jones has since been charged with assault by beating and possession of a class A drug. #ProtectTheProtectors

Surely losing your police hat results in a cake fine??? 🤣 I found this in a country lane in rural Wiltshire last night. Given it’s a cake fine for getting papped by me without a hat on at a job, I can only imagine the level of cake fine for this… @CakeLegislator

@DontKeepPace @louderry Joanne has waived her right to anonymity and wishes to be named. However, it was to ensure he can be named so it’s not necessary to report her name every single time. It’s about him and his offending.

@louderry No. They often don't name the victim to protect them. It's not some failing on their part. It's so that person can try and get on with their lives. But sure. Use their name for internet clout.

Her names Joanne. In France she would be a household name for exposing her exs depravity. It the Uk the media cant even be arsed to name her.

2026 brings new drone regulations — some good, some bad. For me, it means an upgrade from the mini series to an Air 3S. It’s a heavier and more capable drone with a much better camera.

@NormanBrennan @elonmusk Actually the police stated that there are not BELIEVED to be any suspicious circumstances but investigations are ongoing. I’m sure, and sincerely hope, there’s not more to this tragedy — but there could be.

To ⁦@elonmusk⁩ You will see a post by Alice Vinten who ‘Intimated’ that a Tragic Death of 3 People in a Fire could be Murder AFTER police & Fire Service stated NO Suspicious Circumstances & was corrected by Readers Context! Surely this breaches X Rules of Hatred/Abuse?👇🤷‍♂️

@melfordman @BettyBoochichi2 Thought the same. And “my stomach lurched as the sirens wailed to life above us”… why are the sirens mounted on the roof? 🤔😂

Ever wondered if you could hack it as a police officer? Reporter Suzanne Antelme spent a day shadowing a Thames Valley Police incident response team to see what it's all about. The day started bright and early at Reading Police Station with a 7am briefing in a small meeting room where a senior officer sped through a presentation on recent incidents and persons of interest. A spokesperson from the central police press office then introduced me to PC Stephen and PC Micaela, the two young officers we would be following around for the rest of the day. Stephen and Micaela are Incident and Crime Response (ICR) officers, which means responding to emergency calls from the public is their bread and butter. Stephen has been a police officer for about seven years, with three spent on the response team, and told me he’d always wanted to join the force. He even remembers watching police TV series The Billgrowing up: "It sounds so cliché I know." Micaela, who has been with the police for roughly four and a half years, said her interest was piqued when police gave a lecture at her university. She decided to go on a police ride-along (just like this one) and found herself "completely hooked". It was now approaching 9am, and apparently time for us to head out. The press officer and I were both handed high-vis vests emblazoned with 'public observer' in big letters. To my childish delight, we were also given police radios fitted with earpieces that produced a constant background chatter of clipped incident reports. We followed Micaela and Stephen downstairs to the garage and climbed into the backseat of a squad car. Our first call-out was in response to reports of a crash, and my stomach lurched as the sirens wailed to life above us and the car surged forward, swerving through the morning traffic along my usual commute to work. PC Stephen, utterly unphased behind the wheel, explained he has undergone special extra training to qualify for driving 'under blues' (with sirens). As other cars mounted the pavement or stopped in their tracks to give us space and those of us in the backseat braced and went a little grey, Stephen admitted advanced driving is an aspect of the job he really enjoys. The road traffic incident had cleared before we arrived, possibly a misreport, and we settled into a slow patrol of the area. Continued…

A tragic story this. I attended the scene this morning (my photos featuring in this Daily Mail article). Hopefully investigators get to the bottom of what happened here. Awful. dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…

🚨 Spoiler alert: it’s not an emergency vehicle 🚨 Officers from GMP’s CVU stopped this BMW today after reports it was using red and blue flashing lights to move traffic. Only authorised emergency vehicles get the flashy lights — everyone else gets a chat. 🚔#seized #reported

(5/5) This remains on my mind nearly 24 hours on; I sincerely hope that the man's loved ones did not see the photo - which has since been deleted. My thoughts are with the man's family and friends as this devastating time.

(4/5) Some will argue that publishing any imagery of serious/fatal collisions is not sensitive - but it is the role of the press to document such tragic events on our roads. Great care is taken when I am at a scene to ensure nothing graphic or indecent is broadcast to the world.

I continue to feel disturbed by my one of my competitor's inane decision to take a photograph of a dead body and publish it in a live blog. The man had been struck by a HGV and was lying in the road motionless. The publication is owned by a large media group and regulated. (1/5)
