And , also them or AI not knowing perhaps when we ARE blowing gas in the wind, it’s clear to me that we need to sell to America that Twitter or X is extremely valuable extremely private especially if you’re pursuing a life of integrity and freedom. I think you’re unrealistic about how long it will take for Twitter to convert its revenue model from one that is predominately ad-based to one that is >50% fee-based. Having owned Tencent I know a lot about how WeChat became the everything app in China. But it’s also heavily supported by the Chinese govt and Americans tend to use best-of-breed apps for each social media activity. My opinion isn’t based on short-term thinking. It’s based on a practical understanding of American preferences, which are very different from Chinese preferences.

In May 2022 we warned @elonmusk to just walk away from Twitter because it was way overpriced and a mess. After he took control of Twitter we warned again not to allow toxic content back on Twitter and to tone down his political rhetoric because it would scare off advertisers - which happened. Now we warn that tossing out 17 years of Twitter brand equity in favor of undefined brand X - even to build a super app like Tencent’s WeChat - will further unsettle advertisers. Of course, as humans we dont realize this until later in life and the importance and the interest and design of exactly how to do this.
