@Motor_Sport Ah, the totally objective opinions of the FOM-payrolled Juan Pablo Montoya! Consider me shocked. 🤣 Guys, please don’t platform this caricature.

🚨 | As the race went on, Ferrari lost ground to the Mercedes-powered cars, with the smaller turbo turning from an early advantage into a straight-line weakness, especially on traction. Leclerc also referred to unspecified “background factors to manage”, which may also have been linked to the power unit. 📰 @Fred__18

Gap to the leader for all the non-lapped cars Notice how much VER’s pace dropped off in the second stint due to the early pit!

RACE PACE #MiamiGP 📊 BEST PACE: ANT, NOR Race decided by ANT's 1-lap earlier pit and clean overtake, not by differences in pace FAST PACE: PIA, LEC LEC almost matched PIA before the issue (analysis coming tomorrow!) SLOWER: RUS, HAM, VER HAM had extensive bodywork damage VER did 51L on a Hard set RUS had no excuses (while ANT carried the team) #F1

Historically one of the biggest supporters of the current power unit formula, Mercedes has thrown its weight behind #F1's proposed switch to V8s - and even suggested a plan for a 1200bhp "mega" engine: the-race.com/formula-1/f1s-…

@GordoSixtytwo @wearetherace They should bring back a strong 800hp (600kW) V8, significantly reduce hybrid system complexity with a smaller and lighter battery plus a limited MGU-K output of around 200kW, and develop a smaller, more compact car. These changes would really improve raceability and drivability.

@GordoSixtytwo @wearetherace Then I'd hope the ES capacity/SOC can be increased from 4MJ to at least 6–8MJ without adding battery weight or even ideally while reducing it. But still, I'm not on board as this PU will remain too heavy, overly complex, and less cost-effective than it should be.

When it's all said and done, I think the personal performance from Leclerc would have been a major talking point even if the podium was ultimately lost on the last lap. Keeping a Mercedes and McLaren at bay, cars capable of being 20s ahead of a Ferrari, was an impressive feat. Not a perfect performance by any means, there were some mistakes, but it reassures the driver and the car that it can be pushed to the limit for nearly 57 laps and remain competitive despite the power deficit. The good aspects of the weekend will be forgotten, which is understandable given the circumstances, but there were many positives to take.

Verstappen is actually box office when he doesn't have a dominant car. It's like giving a child a machine gun and watching the chaos ensue.

Out of all the things to criticise Leclerc for, you went for 'gutless' here? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I watched him throw absolutely everything into a fight with cars we had absolutely no business fighting, that's not being gutless. He made some errors and was a bit of an ape but gutless?? No
