@SerWinterGaming Pretty sure you can change most of this stuff on your own servers, so why haven't you?

I’ve been so burnt out of Rust over the past year, that I feel like I’ve just been treating this as a job instead of a passion. Between the divisive updates, the cheaters, the way most people play now, the economy of vending machines, the displaced population, the tech tree and so on, it’s just made my desire to play drop to an all-time low. I needed to get these thoughts out, so I made a video about it all.

If i play Rust with more than a trio the game feels so easy i quit within a few hours because the grind of Rust is so much better than getting aks 4 hours into wipe... anyone else?

@DarKForcEnz @slethion Main complaint of players is game being too fast, servers dying too quickly and reaching end of wipe too quickly (i.e the stage were youre thinking "what do i even got to do except raiding". This speeds the game even further, disproportionally benefiting those at the top

Have thought this exact thing for years, get 100-300 rust streamers and put them on a weekly wipe and let the game play out and see what happens. What alliances will form, who will be the last one standing etc.. Would be awesome to see. Could also try the same thing but no team ui or solo with only keylocks etc..

Really having a hoot of a time on @theburntpeanut's server. It's been a real change of pace from just constantly defending online raids in a tea farm while losing my mind as a solo on vanilla servers. It dawned on me playing on this server that we all never really get together and just played Rust for the hell of it. The only time we ever truly play on the same server is if $100,000 is on the line. Which means there's a win condition. Which then completely fucks up the chaotic directionless nature of the game. Getting to run around with Mr. Peanut and the likes as they just enjoy the game has been an absolute treat. While also being able to stream since we don't have to deal with old johnny attention seeker screaming slurs every hour ruining the wipe. So with all that said, I think it would be really cool to invite all of the regular vanilla weekly playing pros for one week of normal Rust. Normal vanilla map. Normal BP wipe. No Rules. Just Rust. Keep all the Rust-curious Twitch streamers on the server, but invite vanilla regulars like A1den, Frost, Spoon, Oilrats, Alone in Tokyo, Blooprint, hJune, Kickz, Lucky Llama, ect... to just come play. People who can play the game and not just make content. There will be no admin, no hand holding, and a gentleman's agreement to not screen peak on each others streams. Just playing Rust for the love of the game. Getting offlined. TC griefing. Door camping. Deeping. Tripled from across the map with the only item you need to continue. Then running away from a fight with the loot you need. Just the whole ugly beautiful mess a live Rust server has to offer. Getting to showing an audience how crazy, fun, unique, and ruthless a vanilla server can be. In the past 5 years I've played in so many tournaments and events but none of them ever really captured that vanilla Rust experience. This has come close. Mainly because you can't get enough pop of stream-ready humans to make a white listed server feel alive. I think with this much momentum behind the game right now, it might be the perfect opportunity to just run a trial week and see what happens. Regardless, it's really awesome to see so many of my favorite streamers getting on Rust and raiding, looting, and Tea Farming. It's a been a real pleasure and I'm stoked to see what's next. Alright. Back to defending a Tea Farm on a random server somewhere. 1 love. GGs. Tea is Life. ☕

That's how things get changed, pass your feedback to your fan base/followers, they then pass that feedback to their friends and eventually Facepunch hear it and may make a change etc.. Heaps of stuff gets changed/added to the game this way. Otherwise posts that are complaining but not providing constructive feedback come across immature and look like this - >

@VincentSMGrust It was a PvE role player type event to get new players who normally don't watch Rust content into the game. Wouldn't worry about it, bigger and better things for you to do.

@TimSweeneyEpic Deleting bug reports is terrible, a structured bug reporting system with good practices would resolve this. This creates duplicated bug reports as no one knows if the bug has been reported before.

It’s true! And it’s normal software development. We prioritize reported bugs. We fix them in priority order. At the bottom are low-priority, low-impact bugs. We find the cutoff point where fixing those bugs is less valuable to the game than other things, and we drop them.
FNBRintel@FNBRintel

According to reports, Epic routinely mass deleted the company's backlog of bug reports despite them not being resolved. 😬 (via @business)

Deleting bug reports or customer suggestions is horrible practice. Its a pain in the ass trying to remember which bugs have been reported/tested/fixed etc. It creates a huge amount of rework and unnecessary noise from people creating duplicated reports. A structured bug reporting system and good practices prevent that. On that note Alistair, there is a bug with bandages that prevents player healing which probably should be bumped higher. discord.com/channels/56012…

Our backlog on Rust is usually several hundred of low priority bugs, many are bugs to us rather than players, but we never deleted them. Generally we have cleanup sprints to tackle them, allow QA to fix them, or they're a good starting point for new staff to resolve and becomes familiar with the project during their starting period. A lot of our low priority bugs can date back years, its a burden on QA and the whole team to know if its still broken or fixed in passing. I can see the logic in deleting them, but rather have them logged than forgotten.

@ErrnieGerrn IMO Rust really doesn't need a sequel. A touch up on player animations and models would be nice though.

@shotsRUST I’d suggest instead that the team ui range is reduced for every new member added to team ui

Rust drops this, how would you feel? players using team ui have a max hp of 75. those without it have the normal 100. max health teas are usable by everyone. this would generally buff smaller groups and solos. it would push people to play without team ui like the old days.

@Alistair_McF I get the purpose of Rust is to get raided and repeat, but, at this point we barely have time to experience half of the cool stuff in the game because the raid comes so soon There's so much content now, idk how but I hope you can find a way to extend the gameplay loop

@playrust Wish they would remove recoil control altogether. Just have the animation like literally any fps game. It is literally an anoyance to every single player that doesn’t put in training to control it.

what if rust literally says nothing and on force wipe you go to shoot a gun an ur blasted by old recoil and then the day after they just change it back without saying anything and then they never mention it or acknowledge it ever just to fuck with us and we all as a collective go fucking insane and start making out with alistair... imagine.
