When I was young, I saw my classmates coming to school with bicycles, and I wanted one too. But because of our financial situation, we couldn’t afford it. Then one day, I got an old bicycle, and I was very happy. Later, I wanted a car and asked my father to buy one for me. He borrowed money and got me a car. As I grew older, my desires kept increasing. From an old car, I wanted a slightly better one, then a newer one, and then even better. After that came a motorcycle, then a house. My wishes kept growing without any end. As we grow, our desires never stop. We can never truly say, “This is enough.” Every time we get something, we start wanting something else. But I was happier when I got my first old bicycle than when I bought a new car. That bicycle meant everything to me because we didn’t have much, and it was very special. As humans, we rarely feel satisfied, but we should always remember to be thankful. Life goes on. Everything we have in this world is temporary. It is as if we are only borrowing it from Allah, and one day, we will return it all. We came into this world with nothing, and we will leave with nothing.
