@TheGamesDet What bothers me the most is when you're a solo-dev developing a game with no budget at all, during free time next to your full-time job... But people insult you because you use a little bit of ai for a few things (even if majority of art is from artist assets you actually paid)🫠

It is interesting how some people are so against generative AI because how it damages designers... And at the same time they buy keys on grey markets damaging game devs

Huge shoutout to @explodinBeef for streaming my demo for 6 hours yesterday! Incredibly valuable feedback and his ability to spot the tiniest typos after hours of dialogue is honestly impressive. If your game is nearing release, I'd highly recommend sending him a key! #indiedev

I don't know how many demo are available on Steam but Another Door is the 45th most played demo right now. That's cool.

I've spent over 15,000 hours on WoW, and its raid bosses have had a huge influence on me. Now when I design bosses for my RPG, I always try to capture that feeling of learning mechanics instead of just hitting harder... Any favorite WoW mechanic? #WorldOfWarcraft #indiegame #rpg

Do you need to make a viral hit to be a successful game developer? Nope! This is something I think a lot of devs get wrong because naturally we all see the biggest examples. - We see Minecraft - We see Stardew Valley - We see Five Nights at Freddy's - We see Schedule I We see games that became cultural phenomenons, made hundreds of millions (or billions), built huge fan bases, got movies, merch, endless sequels, and everything else. And those are awesome! But that does NOT have to be your goal. Personally I have no desire to make some giant cultural phenomenon. I don't want to manage a massive IP. I don't want to build some endless multimedia empire. What I like is making small niche games that some people enjoy. That's it. To me, success has always been making enough money to keep doing this. If I can keep making games, keep teaching game development, keep building interesting things, then to me that's success. - A small game that lets you keep making games is already an incredible success. - A finished game is already a success. - A game that one single person genuinely enjoys and makes $0 can also be a success. Define your own goal, your own definition of success, then build towards that. Best of luck!

Within 2 weeks, we managed to sign up 6 sponsors, 65+ streamers, and over 170+ game developers. Thankful for all who have joined, and looking forward to the next one which should take place mid October!
