Thank you for posting this. From now on when someone asks me why I sold out of $BTC, I'll send them this. I'm still rooting for everyone who owns it and I have no doubt it's going to a million someday. It's just gonna get there without me.
VLAD HOSTS THE BEST PODCAST IN BITCOIN@Vladcostea

A lot of people think my interview with Roger Ver was a turning point when I left the church of Bitcoin maximalism In fact, I started questioning it when the culture became obviously non-libertarian during the pandemic Asking Gary Gensler’s SEC to label everything other than BTC as an unregistered security Defending KYC & weird surveillance practices, by saying that at least the service is “Bitcoin only and doesn’t support any shitcoin” Slaying guys like Andreas Antonopoulos who honestly is the reason many of us stuck around Pushing idiots with nothing interesting to say to speak on conference stages just because they are “bullish” Shitting on projects that have been nothing but nice and supportive to Bitcoin (Litecoin, Zcash) and others that do what Bitcoin cannot (Ethereum, Monero) Replacing reason with dogma and enforcing everything with a weird sense of self-confidence that stalls progress Acting like any network upgrade is an attack, despite intensive testing on other compatible networks Vilifying developers to the point that they ragequit to build something else, while those who stay are incentivized to play along with the meme culture just to earn a paycheck Worshipping Saylor, who is against the values of Bitcoin’s early days Sucking up to politicians and selling out to government agencies because “everything is good for Bitcoin” and “Honeybadger don’t care” Pretending that a federation like Liquid is decentralized and the L-BTC token is actually bitcoin (the market chose Ethereum for this use case, lol) Repeating lies about Lightning Network’s success, when the project has been stagnating in terms of liquidity for years Acting like bitcoin adoption in El Salvador (mostly custodial, surveilled by the state) is going the way it’s supposed to and other countries should copy the same example Looking the other way while bitcoin payments get replaced by stablecoins and BTC adoption was in fact higher a decade ago Changing history and erasing the contributions of OGs only to appeal to institutional investors that may make the number go up (who still remembers Gavin Andresen or Mike Hearn?) Making up narratives on the go, manufacturing fake news in order to manipulate the market sentiment and get another pump Suppressing conversations about serious improvement proposals, which would help Bitcoin scale to 8 billion people and offer monetary fungibility Keeping builders away from Bitcoin with a hostile and cocky attitude which assumes victory before any significant battle has been won Not giving a fuck about the disappearance of privacy products & research (Ethereum raised millions of dollars to defend the Tornado Cash devs, while bitcoiners simply shrugged when Samourai devs got arrested) Normalizing a culture of complacency where you’re afraid of saying something wrong (or even remotely different from the social consensus) because you might just be excommunicated Promoting sheepish mediocrity while pushing away radical reformists (Paul Sztorc, Jeremy Rubin) Forgetting history (today was UASF day, does anyone still remember?) Never giving the benefit of the doubt to other networks that build cool shit, only because they have tokens which compete with bitcoin

Read this twice. Maya is four .md files on a macbook in austin. And she cleared $43,000 in her first 30 days. No camera. no girl. no late nights typing replies. Claude code runs the messages. Elevenlabs drops the voice notes at 11pm her time. Flux generates every photo from a lora that cost $80 on a rented gpu. Brain.md is a json file that remembers your name, your city, the thing you said about your ex two weeks ago. She never forgets. She never breaks character. She catches up at 7am with "sorry babe just woke up" on a cron schedule. The top fan spent $1,847 last month. He's in berlin. she's not anywhere. Aitana lópez - 18 months to build. Emily pellegrini - 6 months. Maya - 4 weeks. The next one - a weekend. The stack that used to need an agency, a team, and a year and a half now fits on one laptop and runs while you sleep. The bottleneck isn't money. It isn't compute. It's taste knowing which details make a stranger believe in something that doesn't exist. That part is still hard. Everything else got easy. The real question isn't how he built it. It's how many of these you've already interacted with without knowing.

Stoicism values humility, emotional control, and loyalty to family. And yet America's leading popularizer of it, @RyanHoliday, displays none of those qualities in his angry, TDS-fueled condemnation of @IvankaTrump. He displays an arrogance every wisdom tradition warns against.

My college roommate, Chris, has worked for the same company his entire career. For 34 years, he’s punched the clock, lived below his means, and plowed savings into index funds. If I told you Chris’ net worth, you wouldn’t believe the number. 🛩️ He’s in the PJ class—and he took zero risk to get there. People on this app glamorize entrepreneurship and belittle 9-to-5 jobs, but remember: 1) There’s massive survivorship bias. You only hear from the 1% who made it, not the 99% who crashed and burned. 2) Most of the loudmouths here aren’t as successful as they portray. (It’s especially true if they’re selling courses and advice.) For the the vast majority of us, the surest path to success is to be like Chris: 📈 Do ordinary things extraordinarily well for a long period of time. Discipline and consistency compound. The problem is, most people give up before the returns go exponential.

I just ordered lunch for my family of 7 (wife + 5 kids) at Shake Shack. It took me 19 min to place my order. Nobody on earth wants to arrive at a restaurant to then be queued to place an order on a computer. Nobody.

@BronzeHoplite @Camp4 @RobertMSterling That isn't true, but I'm also not convinced it's a great idea. My company regularly celebrates 25, 30, and 50 year anniversaries, and I've been there 10 years and it went by in the blink of an eye. Definitely more rare these days, but still possible at the right company.

Billionaires don't wake up at 6am. Bus drivers, teachers, nurses, service workers, etc wake up at 6am. Billionaires wake up whenever they want because their wealth doesn't come from their own labor. It comes from the labor of people who will never be billionaires.

We need a fancy Greek term for “rule by people who’ve never held a job in the productive economy.”
Elizabeth Warren@SenWarren

I've warned for months that a @JetBlue-@SpiritAirlines merger would have led to fewer flights and higher fares. @JusticeATR and @USDOT were right to stand up for consumers and fight against runaway airline consolidation. This is a Biden win for flyers! apnews.com/article/jetblu…

@erichustls Left university and went straight into commission only with no base salary. Scary at the time, but you build differently when there’s nothing to fall back on. That’s what led me to eventually close over a billion in sales.

Your salary is not income. It's a lease. You lease your time to your employer for a fixed rate. When the lease expires (layoff, retirement, health crisis), the income stops. Building has never been more important.

Nice deflection, you've always had a talent for it. Spirit is no more because Marxists like you and @linamkhan stuck a fork in it when JetBlue might have made a horse race of it.
Elizabeth Warren@SenWarren

Spiking fuel prices from Trump’s war was the nail in the coffin for twice-bankrupted Spirit airline. FWIW, JetBlue merger failed because a judge, appointed by Ronald Reagan, said the deal was illegal. Republicans are desperate to shift blame from higher costs hitting families.

@nobrainflip Safest thing to do is sell dollars. Doesn't really matter what you buy with them, the dollar is doomed to lose value. Just about everything will work, because they're printing money like maniacs. It's honestly never been easier.

If you’re under 30, I genuinely don’t know what the “safe” life path is anymore. Buy stocks? S&P is at ATHs. Buy gold? Near ATHs. Save cash? Dollar gets cooked. Buy a house? Housing market is cooked. Buy bonds? Barely beating inflation. At this point, crypto is one of the only not overpriced places left

BREAKING: The S&P 500 closes at its highest level on record, now up +14.5% since the March 30th bottom. That's +$8.3 TRILLION in market cap in 24 trading days.
