@ChrisO_wiki Is trump so out of touch that he thinks he can design ships, What is next, Trump as a rocket scientist
English

Looking forward to seeing the USS Hey I'm Here, Sink Me
Acyn@Acyn
Trump: The new battleship that we have which I helped design. I want that ship to look gorgeous. Forget about stealth. They design ugly equipment for stealth. We design great looking equipment, also stealth.
English

@NoahGairn Then I recommend you rest those hands and fingers, your work may have only just begun!
English

@CDNPolicyHawk @NoahGairn Pretty sure it is Mark MacKinnon and David Pugliese. There seems to be a lot of back and forth about the alleged Russian agent thing again.
English

@NoahGairn I'd ask "who", but "Canadian defence journalists" narrows it down to a pretty small number.
English

@CDNPolicyHawk It was a book written in 2005 so I guess its possible someone in their 20's might have grown up with it, but their 30's? Maybe more of a false memory. I wouldn't say I grew up with something if I was already 10+ yrs old.
English

@NoahGairn Just avoid anything that looks like the Texas National Security Review logo tnsr.org
English

@m_Janelle @FfWorthington @NoahGairn That is it in a nutshell. Pre-fabs are good for certain things, but we will not have the luxury of an admin pause for a few hours while Sappers go through the process, especially now with drone warfare taken into consideration,
English

@DaveJonT @FfWorthington @NoahGairn Indeed. & They can lay that bridge while exposed/under fire from small arms or the odd HE shell throwing shrapnel around.
I don't think the same thing is true for a platoon of Cbt Engrs setting up that MGB...
An incredible gap in our capability set.
English

@m_Janelle @FfWorthington @NoahGairn Before my release 3.5 yrs ago, I saw two people in an AVLB deploy an MLC 70 bridge in under two minutes on YouTube, made me think of all the MGB I built in my 10 yrs in, and wonder why we didn't somehow maintain that capability? 2 minutes, 2 people, vs a Troop and hours?

@NoahGairn @Lucvend Every "indie" band that has sold a million albums has experienced this; stay small and stay you in order to appeal to the OG fans, or stay you, but go to the dark side by "being more professional" to appeal to those who dismiss you because "Cat ears? Not for me!".
English

@Lucvend I haven't really had a lot of time to process how quick I've grown I feel.
Back in May, before CANSEC, the substack had under 10000 viewers per month. I was a lot more niche, and people here have known me mostly for years, so I feel were used to me.
Now? Not so much lol.
English

@DivebumChef Not a single thing wrong with that, speaking as a med release Cpl, like so many others of our ilk that for whatever reason, didn't make it to the non-commissioned officer level. Your 10.5, and my 9.5(ish) years in, is a lot more than 98% of Canadians who have zero time in.
English

@DivebumChef The only question would be if you use the rank you had when you left, I'm assuming Seaman of some sort since you said "it was low", or are you required to use Sailor? If you were a any sort of PO, I wouldn't say that was a low rank.
English

@DivebumChef I'm no policy type, but as long as you were in 10 years, I think you are good to go. I was 9 yrs 5 months before my med release, so I can't, but I think if you are speaking to anything mil related, it may add a little credibility. #11-14" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">canada.ca/en/services/de…

@game_nelson @ArmyRecognition @globeandmail @TorontoStar @nationalpost @kedglobal @JoongAngDaily @TheKoreaHerald @koreatimes @BILD @SZ @faznet @welt @handelsblatt @nytimes @WSJ I would recommend a thread from Policy Hawk discussing diesels over nuclear. x.com/CDNPolicyHawk/…
🇨🇦 Policy Hawk@CDNPolicyHawk
Canada’s 4 existing submarines are all over 30 years old and in need of replacement. While some comments from the (former) PM implied nuclear powered (SSN) submarines were a replacement option, it’s been confirmed only non-nuclear (SSK) boats are being considered. Why is this?🧵
English

@ArmyRecognition @globeandmail @TorontoStar @nationalpost @kedglobal @JoongAngDaily @TheKoreaHerald @koreatimes @BILD @SZ @faznet @welt @handelsblatt @nytimes @WSJ Why would Canada not look at nuclear for their arctic operations…
English

#Canada chooses between #German and #SouthKorean submarines for future fleet as #USA left out.

English

@ArmyRecognition @globeandmail @TorontoStar @nationalpost @kedglobal @JoongAngDaily @TheKoreaHerald @koreatimes @BILD @SZ @faznet @welt @handelsblatt @nytimes @WSJ The US doesn't manufacture diesel subs anymore, so the US more accurately left itself out of the competition.
English

@NoahGairn It seems we are being marketed to the world as a place that can do things, that we have potential, rather than as a nation that constantly reminds other of what we did in the past, and that should be enough.
English

@NoahGairn That is probably the most polite and courteous "Fuck That Shit!" I will ever see in my life.
English

Well, there it is.
How do you feel CAF folks?

English

@st_ottawa @CDNPolicyHawk Pretty sure you are right, the voice sounded like her.
English

@CDNPolicyHawk I wanna say it was Ashley Burke, but don't quote me on that.
